2022 Game #8 | #2 Ohio State @ #13 Penn State | October 29th, 2022 @ 12:00 PM EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
There was some adversity (even if Day caused it himself) that this team needed to face.

Hopefully they'll be better for it.

He’s from Ohio, he’s allowed to be a Buckeye fan.
But he's also a Cowboys fan and Yankees fan. Funny how Ohio State was the only Ohio team he choose to root for. And only Ohio State football too, not Ohio State basketball. Front runner

Thought I was going to get the cover and the over, but just got the over. :(

Front ran(from 3-1) arguably the greatest championship in NBA history here in Cleveland. It is what it is.

He ain't the only front runner who grew up in the 90s in Ohio.

So what do you call people that went to another school but cheer for Ohio State?

Feel bad for Stroud today. That should have been a 500 yard on the road performance against a top 15 team. Heisman moment type of game.
Been reading some articles - the national narrative is that he "struggled" and "was not himself" today. You can tell these people didn't actually pay any attention to the game whatsoever because it couldn't be further from the truth.

In reality, the only person that stopped him today was his own head coach.

What a strange game and narrative surrounding it.

He was unbelievably efficient on passes over 10 yards today. Just still in disbelief by how much Day handicapped the team today for no reason.

Generally you go into a game hoping to run some stuff to open up the big plays.

But when the other team is just giving you the big plays you...should just take it. Not use them to open up the fucking bubble screen.

This is the best, simplest tweet I found that sums what I saw today.

I am worried about the game against Michigan now and our playoff hopes now. Really depressing game. Feel totally different about Day right now.

Be better next week.

I'm slowly coming around to the train of thought that Day should give up the play calling duties.

It's hard to fathom that considering how good the offense is. But it's important to note that this offense, particularly THIS offense, has more talent on that side of the ball than any other team in the country, including Alabama and Georgia.

So when we play Purdue or Northwestern we just completely out-talent them that all of the plays work.

But he has been slow, very slow, to adjust mid-game. He does it at half-time, but these things need to happen sooner. And I think they probably would if someone else had the responsibility instead of the head coach.

We'll see against Michigan, because that's realistically the next team that can actually compete athletically with our offense.

But right now, the book is kinda out. Whatever your tendencies are as a defense about to face Ohio State? Do something wildly different. Because Day will have his game plan, and it'll take him a half to adjust and go away from it.

I thought the defense pretty good today. Just one very bad play with poor tackling.

The rest of it though? Very good. One drive was only kept alive because of a special teams error. That's not on them.

It wasn't their absolute best, but this is also probably the most talented offensive unit they've played so far this year. And it was on the road.

Definitely better than last year, again specifically against the run. Much, much better against the run.
I completely agree our defense actually played a very solid game. However, small correction. The drive with the missed field goal turned touchdown was also kept alive on a defensive pass interference on 3&16. They never get in position to miss the field goal with a special teams penalty without the defensive pass interference.
