2022 College Football Season/Playoff Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Not playoff related but Coach Prime basically telling these Colorado players to hit the transfer portal because he’s bringing his own team is pretty damn funny.

He also stood on the podium and told everyone his son would be the starting QB. :chuckle:

Every video from this announcement looks like something you'd see on a fictional HBO show dramatizing college football.

Cincinnati with the oddest head coach hire in awhile.

UC plays Louisville. Does he just coach both teams?

Pretty odd one. 2 winnings seasons in 4 years at Louisville.

I know next to nothing about him, other than his results look a little underwhelming.

I thought they would hire an emerging mid major coach with some runway or take a swing on a name value assistant.

OSU droning on about the Covid year. Ass kicked.

OSU droning on about weather and flukes. Ass kicked.

Michigan doesn’t fear OSU anymore and the psychological baggage has swung the other direction. I think JJ already publicly asked for another helping, so I think OSU fans love playing that up at this point. That in some way Michigan doesn’t want to play OSU again.

The abject destruction to that program if they lose to Michigan twice in a season is worth risking the other end of the pendulum.

With all that said, we’ll see if either team can even get there.
Talk your shit. Michigan has bragging rights for the first time in 20 years.

But make sure you keep this same energy when the pendulum swings back in the other direction.

He turned App St. into a Sun Belt powerhouse and resurrected a Louisville program after the Petrino disaster. I'm sure they would've preferred Hartline, but I think Satterfield is a great coach.

Resurrected a program is 25-24 overall and 15-18 in conference? They finished 12th in the ACC in one of his 4 seasons. TWELFTH.

Maybe his is a good coach......I guess we'll find out.......but that was a pretty attractive job to me, especially transitioning to a P5.

My energy has always been up. And it is the 4th time in 20 years. :chuckle:

I've lost track of how many times all of you have gone to the well with "THIS IS AN OHIO STATE MESSAGE BOARD".

Ohio state wins: LOLZ, fuck Michigan, where their fans at?!?!

Michigan wins: This is an Ohio State message board, is there another one you could be posting on?

They were either 2-8 or 2-9 in Petrino's last year there and completely devoid of any talent. Getting them back to. .500 is a hell of a job, considering, imo.

I've never said any of this. Michigan and its fans have earned the right to talk shit as far as I'm concerned.

I don't discount the job was tough.....but he also inherited a decent amount of talent, even though that year was a dumpster fire.

Again, I don't know enough about him personally just that at face value, it seems like a guy bailing out of a job he might lose next year, to (IMO) go to a more attractive situation. Better recent cache, better roster (IMO), certainly better recruiting access being in Ohio.

Possible this will be a really good hire......I just didn't expect Cincy to hire this profile of coach. P5 with very mixed results. Obviously hoping it works out for them, just caught me off guard.

As far as I'm concerned, this isn't a "BE A FAN OF THIS TEAM OR GET OUT" forum or sub-forum. The topic is Ohio State--that doesn't mean you have to be a fan to talk about said topic.

Anyone who plays Ohio State seems topical for the Ohio State sub-forum, and if you beat Ohio State, talk all that shit.

I'm a bit disappointed that we don't get an Ohio State/Michigan rematch in the first round of the playoff--would be pretty sweet to have the two schools play each other twice in a season for the first time ever.

Hopefully it happens for the Natty. It'll be nice to get that redemption.

Yeah. I think the playing twice would be pretty fun but that writing is also on the wall with the expanded format coming. It will happen more regularly in the future or so you would think.

I think the element of potentially playing each other twice for the first time ever would be even more special for a national title. I truly don't want to willingly experience that type of stress as a fan :chuckle: but it would be a complete and total spectacle.

I think there's not doubt it would be the highest rated CFP final by a mile, that is for sure.

If the Buckeyes defense's balls finally drop and it contains Georgia, then I feel great about them facing Michigan a second time. Actually a blessing that they get Georgia first; we get to see if they really could win it all.

When OSU is commenting on JSN's availability as "We'll know in a few days".......

Is that, he needs some scans to see what his hamstring looks like?

Is that, we need to talk to his teachers and see if he can make up his classwork?

Is it potentially both? Or has he remained in classes as he has prepared for the draft?

He won't play.

Just crazy that Ohio State had this good of a season--and this deep of a receiver room AGAIN, without a guy who was a Heisman contender to start the year.

Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave and Jameson Williams all go off in the first round of the draft? Cool. We still have JSN, Harrison, Egbuka, etc...

It's an embarrassment of riches.
