2022 College Football Season/Playoff Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If anyone in here ever said “Where are the Michigan fans at?!” , they can get out. :chuckle:

LOL. Whenever I got the tag "mentioned you in <insert college football thread>" I always knew what was coming. I joined in 2010......so for a very long time, there was only one reason anyone needed me in one of these threads at a certain time of the year. :chuckle:

When OSU is commenting on JSN's availability as "We'll know in a few days".......

Is that, he needs some scans to see what his hamstring looks like?

Is that, we need to talk to his teachers and see if he can make up his classwork?

Is it potentially both? Or has he remained in classes as he has prepared for the draft?
Probably both, if I had to guess.

Yeah. I think the playing twice would be pretty fun but that writing is also on the wall with the expanded format coming. It will happen more regularly in the future or so you would think.

I think the element of potentially playing each other twice for the first time ever would be even more special for a national title. I truly don't want to willingly experience that type of stress as a fan :chuckle: but it would be a complete and total spectacle.

I think there's not doubt it would be the highest rated CFP final by a mile, that is for sure.
Rematches will become common in the future, especially when the B1G finally removes their godforsaken divisions.

However, rematching in the Natty will be nearly impossible in the 12 team format, for obvious reasons.

This might be our one and only shot at The Game of all Game's.

Michigan: Chance to beat OSU twice and win a national title
Ohio State: Chance to unexpectedly get in, avenge the Michigan loss and win a national title.

Just absolute and total suck for the loser.

I'm honestly glad I don't need to think about the ramifications for the next 4 weeks. Cross that bridge if we get there.

Yeah. The weight of that game would be the equivalent of about 10 "normal" ones, IMO. It would have its own Wikipedia page and everything :chuckle: It'd probably get its own documentary, too.

The winners would have ultimate bragging rights for the rest of their lives.

The NIL era, for non blue bloods, summed up in one Q&A.

The dudes' exhale nervous laugh is the chefs kiss.

Kinda surprised OSU would be favored over UM considering what happened in Columbus. I figured it would be a pick. I can’t imagine the betting public would be on OSU in that one. The others aren’t surprising
Was literally getting ready to time the same thing. Surprised they are a field goal favorite to a team that beat them at home so soundly.

I'm not surprised, honestly. My takeaway from that game was OSU is a way better team than what they showed in that game but were failed by very incompetent coaching. Vegas obviously agrees.

Now, how much faith should be placed in Day & Knowles getting their shit together is very much up for debate, but from a talent perspective OSU is as good as anyone.

Wasn't the last game 9? Shaving a TD off of a line, with nothing really changing, is a HUUUUUGE swing from an odds making perspective.

Vegas probably took an absolute bath on ML wagers, that could have been had for as high as 3 to 1 in the last contest. That -2.5 will shift and settle around 3.5-4 but the big thing being they probably don't want another game where the ML is such a huge anchor on the sportsbook's bottom line.

When you look at the future bets, Michigan and OSU are generally viewed similarly from a betting perspective. Georgia is a tier above, Michigan and OSU settle in roughly the same 2A / 2B futures tier and then TCU is a massive long shot. I have seen them in multiple places at +2000 for TCU to win the title. That is such a wildly high number as one of the last 4 teams.

I think the surprising one, to me, is that the Georgia line vs. Michigan wouldn't be higher than the original OSU line from week 12. I know their styles are very similar but I would have guessed Georgia to be something like a 6-7 point favorite against OSU and a 10-11 point favorite against Michigan.

JSN cleaned his locker out a few weeks ago.
