2022 College Football Season/Playoff Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Wasn't the last game 9? Shaving a TD off of a line, with nothing really changing, is a HUUUUUGE swing from an odds making perspective.

Vegas probably took an absolute bath on ML wagers, that could have been had for as high as 3 to 1 in the last contest. That -2.5 will shift and settle around 3.5-4 but the big thing being they probably don't want another game where the ML is such a huge anchor on the sportsbook's bottom line.

When you look at the future bets, Michigan and OSU are generally viewed similarly from a betting perspective. Georgia is a tier above, Michigan and OSU settle in roughly the same 2A / 2B futures tier and then TCU is a massive long shot. I have seen them in multiple places at +2000 for TCU to win the title. That is such a wildly high number as one of the last 4 teams.

I think the surprising one, to me, is that the Georgia line vs. Michigan wouldn't be higher than the original OSU line from week 12. I know their styles are very similar but I would have guessed Georgia to be something like a 6-7 point favorite against OSU and a 10-11 point favorite against Michigan.
I think you have a right to come in here and talk shit, and I think you do it elegantly, with just a touch of troll.

If tOSU wants to have TTUN fans stfu, they need to win the damn games. Michigan is rolling right now.

My issue with Ohio State is that Stroud seems allergic to contact and therefore the option never works since he almost never keeps the ball. I do think he is an incredible thrower, and maybe the best, but I question his toughness. Fields was a truck and there was that game he got injured and STILL came back and delivered a touchdown.

Our defense obviously let us down. I am hoping that our extra week off is just the medicine that we need for polishing the details and getting healthy at the RB position. I do think we have a nice chance against Georgia. I like that they are rolling too. Feeling themselves.

We can play with anyone so we will see how it shakes out. We aren’t coming in hot at all, but we certainly are a dangerous 4th seed, and we backed into a spot that we barely if at all deserve.

Who do you all think are the best 4 teams?
UGA
TTUN
OSU
Clemson?

I would think TTUN would rather play TCU than Clemson, at the very least. Any other sleeper teams? I don’t buy Bama this year, but great coach of course.

Looking at the top 25, you can see just by the sheer number of losses how hard it is to go undefeated. Many ranked teams have 3-4 losses.

Honestly, it is a good question. I think TCU gets a lot of flack but I'd also rather prepare for a more stationary, inexperienced QB like Klubnik, than I would someone like Duggan.......who has a ton of experience and the ability to have those truly backbreaking games where he rushes for 100+ yards.

Michigan has generally controlled pocket passers, even when those teams have quality skill talent. Thought the B1G Championship was a good example of that. O'Connell played I think as well as you can expect him to play.....made some truly perfect throws on multiple 3rd downs.....and he ended at 7.5 YPA, 366 yards, 0 TD's and 2 INT's on 47 pass attempts.

It wouldn't shock me, just complete eye test, if someone like Utah were actually the 4th best team.......if you could have your mind erased on their 3 losses this season. If you are talking who would I least like to play in the 4 team playoff, aside from OSU and Georgia. Their play style and coaching would just be a really tough out in a multi week prep scenario.

I respect Bama, certainly but they look pretty beatable this year. Could have easily been a 3 or even 4 loss team. Still wouldn't want to give Nick Saban several weeks to scout a team......but something just seems slightly off about them this season. Just never totally clicked.

Here's my feeling.

Ohio State has played exactly one good passing QB all season. Just one. Taulia Tagoiviola.

And he lit them up.

Notre Dame couldn't throw the ball at all on anyone. Sean Clifford is truly a terrible QB in a run first offense. And JJ McCarthy is a young guy in a run first offense.

But the last ALSO lit them up.

As of right now, I don't think Ohio State would slow down TCU or USC or Tennessee. So until they show me, I think all of those teams would beat them.

Am I hearing correctly that a bunch of 4 and 5 star recruits have entered the portal to play for Prime Time?

Including 8 players off of Alabama?

OSU had a Pac-12 crew the last time they faced an SEC team as a four seed in the playoff

Firearms generally freak me out anywhere outside of am environment like the range or hunting. Where there is a very specific purpose for them. I can't imagine feeling comfortable in a car, just driving around with an unconcealed weapon.

Probably the only thing that is going to save his ass here is that he legally purchased and registered the gun. Had he not done that, he'd probably be spending a not insignificant amount of time in prison.

He also violated the golden rule in college, which is never commit more than 1 crime at a time. He's lucky he didn't end his career or kill someone.
