Game #25 | Lakers @ Cavs | Dec. 6, 2022

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Lakers were 6-36 from 3. Their bench saved them from a worse blowout.

Donovan and Darius were too much for them. They needed AD to balance them out. I think Lebron got a little discouraged because no one was hitting 3s and AD was out.

Cavs also can still make draftday trades to trade their picks in 24,26, and 28 if the right wing comes along. (Assuming that we lose our pick to the Pacers this year unless something very bad happens)

People keep harping on the need of a "legit" wing and I'll just keep saying it: The resources are more than limited, they're almost zero (assuming you aren't trading Allen or Garland or something).

Come to grips with that however you guys wish.

But continuing to type "Koby needs to get us a tall, athletic wing who can shoot!" just isn't gonna make that a possibility.

SCrap heap guys (like Duncan Robinson) are where you have to look.

My guess is they probably want to see Kevin Love with Rubio before deciding they have to unload him but that's cutting it close imo. His contract is our best shot at getting someone that isn't a total reclamation project.

I don't know who that someone might be, so don't ask.

It's time for lebron to retire. If he didn't want to play with his son, this should be his last year.

Cavs get another lucky break when Unibrow checks out after 8 minutes with 1 point. Hope he didn't infect any of our guys before he left.

Cavs were also lucky the Lakers only made 6-for-36 on 3's. They are not a good 3-point team, but 17% is pretty bad. But the Cavs continued laying bricks at 26% from deep. They're 39% for the season at home.

The Lakers' bench destroyed the Cavs' bench 52-19. We need Wade and Rubio back ASAP.

The Lakers were destroying the Cavs on the offensive glass in the second half, especially with Allen on the bench. With Love of no use and Wade out the Cavs did not have the rebounders and the Lakers grabbed 14 offensive boards.

But Mitchell poured in 43 and Garland had 11 assists (even though he missed 5 of 6 from deep). Allen had 24 points, 11 rebounds, and 3 steals. Our main guys got it done, but I would have liked to get a little more help from the bench. Cedi, Love, and Okoro were not much help. Love had four fouls in 9 minutes and was a -14. Just a horrible performance.

Lakers' starting guards Walker and Beverley combined for 12 points in 46 minutes. Austin Reaves was a -20 in 26 minutes as he was helpless against Mitchell and Garland. Thomas Bryant had a terrific game with 19 points and 9 rebounds off the bench. He was unstoppable on the glass.

That would have been a discouraging game to lose considering the Lakers missed 30 three-point shots and AD had to leave after scoring just one point. But Mitchell took over the game at 90-90 and carried the team to a W with 17 points in the 4th.

Davis Bertans barely plays in Dallas.

There's another potential guy to swap LeVert for.

Again, I don't know if that's an upgrade, but it's a different style of player who, in theory, better fits the primary guys on the roster.

Agree 100%. And any player clearly better than Mitchell (e.g., a top 12 player in NBA) would not be available in a trade.
And certainly not for any trade where you don’t give up Garland or Mobley. Hell, we even got away with no giving up Allen. There is no scenario where you get a better player than Mitchell without giving up one of those 3.

I’m not worried about a wing. Lukey Travers is bringing the Mullet Mania to the states next year.

I'm just worried about finding guys who are good spot up shooter and, even more importantly, want to play that role.

Already we're seeing the LeVert early season 3 point shooting numbers tail off. Osman's are, predictably, tailing off. Wade can't stay healthy and it's not like he's a dead eye shooter either.

And then you've got old man Love. Who knows where his season will go.
