Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I honestly didnt know Avatar 2 was coming out until a youtube ad interrupted my music. I cannot begin to express how little I care and I didn't even watch the first one with Dev Patel. Just an absolute horrible interpretation of a beloved animated TV show

James Cameron's ego is so massive I'm not sure how the planets haven't started to orbit him.

That said as a director his record is nigh impeachable at least in terms of box office success. I'll have to see him fail before I'll believe it.

I assume that Avatar 2 will probably be an entertaining movie.

But I just can't bring myself to care about it, nor do I have any real desire to re-watch the first one.

Is this a clever post or an ignorant post, cant tell

This is really cool

Practical effects done well will simply always look better than CGI.

It's why the original Star Wars movies still look better than the prequels despite being a couple of decades older. Being on a real set, even if it isn't a super expensive one, looks more authentic than fighting on a set where everything in the background is obviously fake. Doesn't help that the prequel CGI is early CGI that looks awful.

Imo this is why Mad Max Fury Road is one of the best films of the last decade. The effects are amazing

The leap in CGI between AOTC and ROTS is super pronounced.

Parts of ROTS look amazing even by current standards, while most of AOTC looks super cheesy.

Fall was decent 6.5/10.
Clerks III was fucking depressing 5/10.
Smile 6/10 Ok
Significant Other 6/10 Ok
The Invitation 4/10

Uh, yeah.

Avatar was… really, really good.

The plot was massively better, and if there was a way to somehow be even better visually, it somehow happened.

7/10 plot, 10/10 visuals. Solid 9?

Finally saw Weird: The Al Yankovic Story. I put it off despite the fact I still own his first movie UHF on DVD. I shouldn't admit that in public, but there it is.

It's objectively funny. I assure you that even if you hate Weird Al, you will laugh out loud several times.

UHF is a masterpiece.

I don't think anybody in this thread mentioned Weird. It wasn't in theaters, but these days that isn't a barrier or slight, in my opinion.

UHF parodies cheap local television of the 1980s with an amazing cast. It is never mean... Well, it's never too mean. Weird parodies music biopics with the same Yankovic dexterity.

So we are talking over 30 years between his first movie - which is comic gold - and this one. Find a pirate copy if need be, it's hilarious. My wife found UHF boring but loved Weird. 9/10 in the comedy genre and I'm being conservative because I'm bias as hell.

Oh yes, I have had a copy of UHF since it first came out on DVD.

I was at the perfect age for peak Weird Al and we watched UHF a hundred times as kids.

I have been meaning to watch Weird, so I will make it a point this weekend.

It is so hard to access!! Everyone would be talking about it if they knew how to find Roku Television. It's like a hunt for comedy, but it's worth it

I read "I put it off" and my brain thought you meant you shut it off and I was about to be massively disappointed in you .

The casting in the movie was fantastic. Daniel Radcliffe killed it. He's been pleasantly awesome as he's grown up. I didn't see that coming from the Harry Potter kid.
