Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I’m more concerned about the political ramifications of Ghandi becoming a beef eating, Ferrari driving vigilante who casually murders street thugs.
Candidly, I’m **actually** most concerned about the movie clearly being bought and paid for by the all-powerful Twinkie Weiner sandwhich lobby. We still feel the ramifications of that to this very day.

You’re angry about the kid taking the firehose to the face, but not Raul’s repeated and failed efforts to teach poodles to fly?

I'm mad about all of it. The firehose was just the one scene I vividly remember. And its funny, years later, I couldn't recall why I didn't like Kramer on Seinfeld despite why everyone else loved him. Now I know why, he liked to assault children in his earlier job.

Wait til Big Edna finds out!

The marble in the oatmeal saga had the same ending as Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

I hated UHF as a kid. HATED it. I liked Wierd Al songs growing up, my older brother was an early adopter of the Nerd Kings music; but when my 10 year old self watched that movie I was just annoyed. Wheel of Fish? Just gross and stupid. Kramer's character was just irritating. I was angry that they did the firehouse thing to some poor unsuspecting kid. And also for the record: we had a kids show in AZ at the time called Wallace and Ladmo; to me, it was like an evil version of their show (it was nowhere near as bonkers but I was a kid), and I loved that show; even got on for a Ladmo Bag bc of my older bro. Kind of felt like they were picking on them; which they weren't, but again, I was 10. I've honestly never been able to bring myself to watch it again, because it's ingrained as being so dorky, over the top and annoying I just can't do it.

And one last thing: let's not act like Wierd Al was cool, the kids I knew that listened to him were all dorks like me. I just don't buy it when people claimed they liked him as kids. Maybe he became ironically hip after Amish Paradise, but from 1980s up to early 90s, he was 100% nerd. No chic.

Weird Al strikes me as the "musical" version of Jack Black. Jack Black is so obviously trying to play the over the top "aren't I such a funny maniac" that he just isn't funny. And Weird Al is trying so hard to play the "aren't I so witty/clever" card that he seems neither to me. Kind of the musical version of Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, which I never really "got" either.

Then again, maybe I'm just a dick.

Wife and I just watched "The Volcano", a Netflix documentary about the 2019 eruption in New Zealand. Very well made, and rather horrifying in parts.

One thing I really appreciated about it was that it didn't waste the first 15-20 minutes with a bunch of setup and background information. You started off pretty much right with the people on the actual island.

8/10

I liked this one too. Crazy to think of getting caught in a cloud of steaming boiling acid. A little long for what it was though, some padding

The part where the screen went all black, and you just had the voices of people recorded on their phones really got me.

Wait where is Weird and how do I find it? My kid LOVES Weird Al and we really enjoyed UHF - critical for me to find this movie for him!

If you don't already have The Roku Channel, the good news is that it's fairly easy to download and is absolutely free -- though there are ads.

You can add the Roku Channel to any Roku streaming device, Samsung Smart TV, or compatible Amazon Fire TV device. You can also download the app for iOS and Android to get the channel on your mobile device. Or piracy, which isn't terrible.

Jack Black is already the musical version of Jack Black.

Watched Glass Onion earlier. I’m not sure if Norton’s character was directly inspired by Elon Musk, but the movie released at the absolute perfect moment where the payoff to the mystery certainly makes it feel that way.

I have no reason to debate humor. It's self-defeating.

What I will suggest is what every stand-up comedy venue will suggest: clear your schedule for about an hour and a half and crack open whatever libations you prefer. Allow yourself at least two drinks and be open to the possibility that Weird will be worth your time. I think you will be surprised, despite having no allegiance to either Jack Black or Yankovic.

It's just very funny for people who experienced the late-70s into the 80s.
