I don't know why you took so much offense to what I said. For me, it's not about signing FA. I love the Bell signing, but most high end FA signings end up being burdens and none of us want that going forward. What I do want is for them to continue to trade for and develop the type of talent WS winning teams have to spend huge amounts of $ on. I want them to continue to allow good young players to prove they belong. I want them to make trades that flood the system with a lot of talent that is either ready or near ready. I don't want to see one dimensional players like Straw or average players like Rosario and Plesac anymore. They are addressing these issues and I'm a fan of what they've done, but right now the White Sox are a better team on paper and there's no denying that we benefitted from injuries to them and the Twins last season. My post wasn't "gloom and doom". It was an honest opinion. It is also my honest opinion that we are just scratching the surface of this team's potential going forward even if I don't think we're all the way there yet.
no offense taken. The injuries thing happens all the time to many teams. Just is what it is, this year very easily can be our unlucky year.
I agree with you on Rosario and Plesac. I am amazed Plesac is still around although not sure what kind of return he brings. I am all for moving Rosario and I agree on the near major league talent back for him

I think we should see what Straw does this year. If he gets anywhere in the .240 range I am more than good with him. Plus we really are not sure what/who Will Brennen is so I am ok going into mid june and see what develops with Straw. And there are ways to make sure Will gets at bats.

The things that scares me most about the white sox is that LaRussa is no longer manager

You're right, this year could be our unlucky year, but if I had to guess health and youth are closely related so that should benefit us.

I've beat the Straw issue to death. Nothing else needs to be said other than I view it differently than you, and that's ok by me.

Had they stayed healthy, I'm not sure LaRussa being manager would have mattered. If they have improved by replacing LaRussa and they stay healthy for the most part then hang onto your hat because they're loaded.

The offseason isn't close to being over. I expect the Twins to make a significant move or 2 and I don't think our Guardians are done yet either so we'll have a better idea in another month or so.

Still trying to explain how the orgs way of doing business over the last decade, all the wins, while at the same time building one of the best farm systems in baseball, isnt success.

According to some (one), nothing but dumb luck.

LOL

**************

Still trying to justify the non stop trading of our best players for more prospects, because their only real value is as trade chips.

If Bieber gives us another season as a CY candidate....if he gives us two seasons as a CY candidate...some (one) will still complain that we should have traded him for more prospects.

LOL

********

Lets trade Bieber for five lower level prospects, because there is no room on the 40 man for more prospects. Lets trade Amed for two lower level prospects. Lets trade Plesac for lower level prospects. But, for heavens sake, lets not trade any of our best prospects that will improve the present MLB team.

********

Lets totally ignore the fact that Espino, Morris, Cantillo, and Curry all have health concerns.

*********

Bauer isn't getting railroaded. MLB and the other major sports circuits have traditionally held a boys will be boys attitude about these kind of things.

As long as your fav player isn't doing this with your daughter, its okay.

The fact that MLB has finally taken a stand isn't railroading. Bauer is being handled as other players should have been handled decades ago.

He won't be wearing a Guardians uniform, if he wears any MLB uniform again.

I would love to get a bag of popcorn, a cold pop and watch you and Gson have at it. That would be entertaining. LOL

Besides that, just about everything you say here is BS. LOL

Your takes here are skewed as they always are and basically lean toward you trying to strengthen your weak points by attempting to belittle others'. LOL

SportsNaut says that the Dodgers will cut Trevor Bauer upon reinstatement.. leaving them on the hook for a BIG wad... some.. or all. not sure.. Bauer was presented as having four places to land:

Cleveland Guardians

Maybe the best way for Trevor Bauer to rebuild his name and career would be to return to his roots and a reunion in Cleveland. No organization better understands his value — after earning his lone All-Star appearance there in 2018. Plus, the American League Central champions could certainly use him to combine with young guns Shane Bieber and Cal Quantrill. That trio would certainly be formidable and one of the elite triple threats in the AL.
wft is SportsNaut? And there is a 0% chance Bauer pitches for Cleveland unless Tito and the FO are all gone.

I actually wouldn't put it at zero, but that bridge would be hard for Bauer to fix and cross...

Bauer is getting railroad by MLB, he is getting about 5× if not more of a suspension than guys who got indicted on charges and he never did... Bauer will be reinstated in 23, but it doesn't mean anyone will give him a chance...

MLB shadowbanning bad people is okay by me.

Bauer’s time in Cleveland is closed.

IDK.. first I've ever heard of the site.. the story was what caught my eye.. not the author of the site.. Of course, the popular refrain exists. it was on the internet, so, it must be true !!..

@Criznit

Util Brandon Drury could be a guy Cleveland targets in free agency and could be your bench guy... They did try to get him last season...

If only it was actually about totally about him being a "bad person" this would at least be a viewpoint that I could understand. There's been a lot of "bad people" yet Bauer's treatment is pretty unprecedented, meaning there's likely another factor in his treatment.

In a league full of second chance, perhaps the factor is how his teammates, team personnel and his off the field actions have allowed them to formulate an opinion that he’s really just not a worthwhile reason to treat him?

Manfred hates the guy...
