Greg Newsome II Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Damar Hamlin almost died a few weeks ago...

Dudes are ending up with CTE...

Some have trouble walking...

Yeah, life is at stake. Having your potential earnings cut in half based on the position you play is your livelihood. Find the highest paid slot corner. Then find the highest paid edge corner. Pretty big difference.

What does his behavior accomplish? Well, it may get him traded to a team that plays him where he wants to be and may pay him accordingly. Or it may make the Browns stop playing him out of position. Or, if they keep playing hardball, he goes to another team in free agency. Squeaky wheel gets the grease. Silent wheel gets the shaft.
Don't be dramatic. He doesn't have to play then. He voluntarily chooses to play football and he gets compensated handsomely for his services. There is nobody forcing him to play the sport.

I'm not even debating what he's worth. And why are we even talking about money when he's got 3 more years (2 and an option) left on his deal? I don't get it.

My point is, he's a 2nd year player who is openly admitting he's not willing to do everything to help the team win. Considering the state of the Browns defense this past year, this is very on par for what seems to be a big part of the issues: a lack of communication, effort and leadership. That's my only point.

These complaints shouldn't be made public under any circumstances. Bitching = losing. Be an adult and communicate with those who actually have a say in where you line up on a given play. Always manage up and keep your complaints within the building.

TBH, this is borderline Clowney type of shit right here.

He is under contract to do a job. That job is assigned by his boss. He does his job as assigned by his boss or he can sit on the fucking bench until he decides to do his job. And if he decides to sit, it is conducted detrimental to the team, hence a fine of a game check.

Y'all are some real "shut up and dribble" type folks. No wonder we cant keep nice things.

I think it is wrong to assume he's saying "no" to playing slot corner. It was a 2 part question. He gave one answer. My read is that he was being intentionally opaque and ambiguous with his answer.

Typical knee jerk reactions from fans who automatically assume the worst IMO.

This is such a non story. Newsome played great outside as a rookie, of course that’s where he wants to play.

I agree with your premise that things should be kept in house but disagree on the severity of Newsome's one-word tweet, heh. It's nowhere near Clowney type of shit... you're also being dramatic here.

Newsome may very well have a couple conversations with Schwartz and be like, "I'm excited for this defense and am willing to help the team out no matter what is asked." which would make this tweet completely irrelevant and forgotten.

It's way too early to be drawing any real conclusions about how "locker room attitudes aren't going to fix the problems on defense"... like, waaaaaay too early.

You are, quite literally, telling him to stop complaining and play where they tell him to...

He's saying Newsome doesn't need to be going to Twitter to air it out. If he's upset with his role, better to do it behind closed with the actual people making decisions.

And like Ed said, this isn't remotely close to "shut up and dribble"

I don't think he's going on Twitter to air anything out when the conversation originated on Twitter.
