2022-2023 NBA Regular Season Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Can someone explain to me how the mid-season tournament won't just de-evolve into the battle of the reserves because the guys already getting paid see no point in maxing their effort for chump change?
And players can invest in betting companies and shit nba is going in the wrong direction

A mid season tournament strikes me as a terrible idea. The bottom line in the NBA is that only playoff performance /championships really matter. They should shorten the season and just get us to the playoffs faster and with healthier players instead of coming up with its fake playoffs in the middle of the season that people DGAF about

They aren't going to shorten the season because that's less money all around. It's not even on the table.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't all this just mean that we're going to pay our guys more, while simultaneously being punished with new luxury tax restraints once we do?

It means we won't lose any of those 3 guys because we aren't allowed to pay them what they're worth. Cavs won't have to choose between anybody.

Even better for the Suns with 4 max players and look there Chris Paul is the president of the players union.

Chris Paul isn't the president anymore, CJ McCollum is. Also, Donovan Mitchell is one of the vice presidents, though...

Yeah, it’s going to really help. But we are going to have two of our super max players be six foot guards who aren’t Steph Curry. This has always been the question about the route we are taking…

Trae with a disgusting clutch flop to seal the game and maybe Dallas's fate

Such a bogus hooper

Serious question: does Donovan Mitchell ever look undersized as a shooting guard to you? I know it’s easy to list his height, but his wingspan and strength make him play like a 6’5 guy.

Have you see length bother him like it does guys his height normally? What about physicality?

Do you think the Suns the last few years have had a problem with two of their best players being smaller guards? I think Booker is an inferior athletic specimen to Mitchell if I’m being honest.

I’ve just never looked at Mitchell and thought he was undersized, or even below average, for his listed position. He looks bigger than Okoro out there most nights and Isaac is a beefcake.

I think the time of 6’6 and length being the standard for an NBA shooting guard is long past.

The only flaw in this theory is that it’s really up to Phoenix, who play both the Clipper and Lakers in the next week. If Durant plays in those games and the Suns try to win they can thrash either team. Whichever game they hold Durant out of, that opponent will take the six slot. If they play hard both games then it depends who wins between the Clippers and Lakers on Wednesday.

I think people are overdoing the suspense in the West. If Durant is healthy there’s no stopping Phoenix

And I think some people are overrating both Phoenix (who imploded spectacularly vs. a mediocre Mavs team last year) and Durant, who is now finally showing his age and injury susceptibility...after a dismal showing via a sweep last playoffs.

The '17/18 Warriors they certainly are not.
