Game Thread | Knicks playoff series Game #4 | Cavs @ Knicks | April 23, 2023 | 1:00 p.m. ABC

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm trying to think of a team in the east that would have been a worse matchup than the Knicks. 76ers maybe but that's about it. This series is really disheartening.

The Bucks. The Heat. The Celtics. The Hawks probably. The Raptors. I'm trying to think of a team that wouldn't do this exact thing to us in the league (in the playoffs and play in) outside of maybe the Nets. And even then, if we game plan the way we have been, we're just shooting ourselves in the foot regardless of who we play. Garland on Brunson and a half assed trap... That's the series right there. Caris and even Okoro did decent on him one on one but we went away from that.

And we're going to hear about Mobley's lack of development all off-season.
What we should hear about is this alleged “prodigy” scoring 8,10,12&13 points in the series. That’s the future??? Ugh

I'd go back to Okoro on Brunson but again it's like...what are we doing here. The Knicks are scoring 100 points a game in this series, haven't broken 102.

What we are doing defensively is working if we could play just run of the mill NBA offense and we can't do it.

But I guess let's see if we can win game 5 95-92.

Lol. He's been in the playoffs before. And had poor spacing before. And gone up against better teams in the playoffs before.
Yeah, yeah.Thats exactly why he never been playing in the Finals lmao.

You know basketball is a team game, right? Dude is averaging 28 ppg in the playoffs for his career. Bad take.

I challenge you to find a Utah team he was on with poor spacing.

Those starting units had 4 guys who all shot 38% from 3 or higher on high volume and Rudy Gobert.

Spacing to the max.

And this is what I'll say: Despite all of his big playoff games, he's now staring down the barrel of losing THREE series that his team was favored in w/o making the conference finals.

They were favored to beat Denver. Then they were HEAVILY favored to beat a Clippers team down Kawhi, and now this.

And every time man, it's something. He scores 50 points multiple times against Denver but, whoopsie, Jamaal Murray scores even more.

Ultimately, I'm sticking to my initial thoughts on Mitchell: there is no such thing as a franchise 6'3 shooting guard. Being tall in the NBA matters, and if you aren't tall you need to have elite point skills to carry a team. Really carry a team.

This series should open the eyes of the FO that having too many non-shooters/offensively limited players on the roster will not work in the playoffs. This is still a space and pace league.

As an aside, the twin pogo sticks should also be broken up. Their brand of “defense” will not fly in the playoffs. They are too overmatched physically. This is compounded also by the fact that they are also unreliable offensive players outside of 5 ft.

I agree that they need broken up, but how is their brand of "defense" not flying lol.

The Knicks are shooting like 42% from the field and averaging 100 points a game.

What about their defense isn't working? Someone, please explain this to me.

Should the Cavs be holding them to 88 points a game or something here?

Our defense is fine, the problem is the offense high school level.
