I definitely think people were expecting too much. I viewed this team's max potential as the divisional playoffs. We weren't making the conference finals folks. Just watching them play this season, you could see the struggle.

Between JBB, roster construction, young players not fully grown. As I said before, your not defeating the empire with farm boy Luke which is Mobley or ESB Luke, which is Garland. Both need to continue working on their game. Garland needs to mature now into ROTJ Luke while Mobley becomes ESB Luke, with evolved skills. The difference in this series would have been huge.

Why is it OK to show vitriol towards a player for missing shots on the court, where at least you know he’s playing a rough physical game against the finest athletes in the world busting their ass trying to stop him, and unfair to show vitriol towards a GM for making stupid decisions sitting behind a desk?

Sports hate: it’s for white collar front office people too!

Koby gets millions of dollars a year to make these calls (and made some of them worse than a few posters here paid nothing). He’ll be just fine regardless of what some anonymous posters on an internet BB say about him

Between this series and the Indians' continual cuckage at the hands of the Yankees + the Cubs series, it's sickening to not once be able to make these asshole big market media members choke on their words.

Thats not okay either. The vitriol towards players has been called out elsewhere at different times. Those Sexton-Garland debates were sometimes really bad. But, at least we aren't Toronto fans

Let me put it another way then. No one would dispute that you can claim that player X is a lousy player who makes poor decisions on the court or lacks skill Y. Same for a coach.

Why is it impermissible vitriol to say that a GM is a lousy GM who made poor decisions?
 
Who's to blame for the absurdly stupid contract extension to JBB when anyone with half a brain could see his flaws as a coach? It was painfully obvious he was never going to be the strategic minded coach needed to compete at the highest level.

Koby is a tough case because he makes a lot of savy moves, he's drafted well but he's also made very boneheaded decisions too

Its about how it has been said not what was being said. The GM, coach, water boy, player everyone can be fallible. But the way we discuss it should be nuanced and not read like someone raging after a game of CoD on Xbox live

People are expressing a long list of informed and specific criticisms so it's not like claims are ungrounded. People should be free to have some passion and emotion. If you can't rant and rave on an anon sports message board after watching a series like this, then where can you express emotion? We're not writing press releases for a large corporation like I sometimes do in my day job. Fuck nuance, we need junkyard dog posters.

This was the worst. The Yankees at least have a history that mostly justifies the hype. The Knicks do not. They grossly overrate their team, their history, their importance in the NBA and most of all that stack of shit old ass gym on top of a rat infested hellhole of a train station. The Mecca of basketball my ass.

I'm on team Jimmy. I've never rooted for a Miami team before but I hope Butler tears them a new one. I hope Love shoots the lights out and grabs boards left and right.

I don't mind the Knicks players, the coaches and the fans. It's that bogus media narrative I can't stand. The only rival to that is the Cowboys "America's Team" crap which I also hate.

But the fact is the Cavaliers brought this on us. Knicks kicked our asses. Sucks to be us right now.
