But wasn’t that only after he was told he wouldn’t get playing time?
Yes , the comments I read that Bickerstaff was unhappy with Love's defense in the pick and roll.
There's that part I would like to know what transpired and he was not in the rotation.

Yeah, I don't get why he'd say he wanted to stay, then it just changed. Unless his role changed.

It was evident they were trying to squeeze him out of the rotation. Of course at that point, you have no choice but to let him go "if he requests it".

I feel like better communication could have happen if that WASN'T the case. Like "Hey Kevin, you may see your minutes limited, but it has nothing to do with taking you out of the rotation. And this is just temporary. We want you to get healthy (remember he was dealing with injuries). That's our focus, not limiting you."

And why would Love want to stay on a team, where he's not part of the rotation? It makes no sense for him or us, so the damage was done. And then he requested to be bought out.

I don't understand how the Cavs had no hand in this, unless I'm missing something else.

Because apparently Wade was ready to take over his role as the stretch 4. Wade got cut from the rotation right after. So I have no idea what the point of it was to begin with.

Then that's on the Cavs. Wade showed he wasn't even good enough to be in the rotation. Especially in the playoffs.

Reality, its on JBB. Again, fuck this guy. We are one of the best defensive teams in the league. We could survive. So he wanted to cut out Kevin, because he wasn't healthy, and sure not a great defensive player.

But he brings two things this team LACKS. Perimeter shooting, and defensive rebounding. Both things that hurt as badly.

JBB didn't want to play him. I think that was clear as day. And JBB was wrong, color me shock.

Love to say I told you soooo

I think it's obvious now that you have to stick with guys and let them work through shit. The people that proved themselves are a great example. Okoro and LeVert were some of the only people that actually produced. Kev found a home in Miami.

We have no idea what we even have because of this really strange philosophy of jb. Neto is a baller, Stevens deserves some time, Osman can play, etc etc etc.

I lose faith in the judgement of any poster who can watch these playoffs without concluding that managing to lose Kevin Love for absolutely nothing was an EPICALLY STUPID and EPICALLY INCOMPETENT move by JBB and Koby both

I'm not sure I trust JBB's judgment on whether Wade was good enough either. If Miami can dust Duncan Robinson off after sitting for most of the season and then throw him in against Milwaukee to help win the series, then Wade could've gotten more than 8 minutes the entire series against New York too. The team was desperate for a wrinkle.
