I do think people are overestimating how many passes there are going to be to go around next season.

Watson’s career high in pass attempts is 544. It seems highly unlikely with an effective RB like Chubb still here that the Browns would top more than about 600 passes on the high end.

Subtract spikes and throwaways and it’s down to about 560.

Subtract RB targets which will always be there because of screens and dump offs and check downs, now you’re at about 485.

Cooper last year as WR1 got 132 targets. I wouldn't expect that number to go down all that much. So now you’re left with only roughly 350 targets between DPJ, Moore, Njoku and the rest of the WRs and TEs combined.

If you add Hopkins into that mix there’s absolutely a massive crunch.

Am I the only one who doesn’t think Hopkins would ever play here?

Money and connections makes it possible with Hopkins.

Just think he winds up in Buffalo.

I think this is a consideration that many people are not taking into account.

Then again, on the short list of teams he is thought to like, few will have any more targets than the Browns.

But knowing that he knows that, perhaps the connection with Watson is all the more important as he figures he may see just that many more targets than he would from someone else.

I forgot all about this guy. Seems like he never could quite get his life outside of football together.

Mr & Mrs Haeg have to be devastated….
