2023 Season | Series #24 | A's @ Guardians | June 20-22, 2023

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Back to Arias and even the announcer were complexed with the way he swinging, his last ab he had a 3-1 count and took a check swing foul with a pitch straight down the middle , there definitely something going on, hopefully Brennan is back tomorrow, even against the LHP Wiley tomorrow……Love for them to just switch him and Oscar for a couple weeks, hopefully Arias could find what’s bothering him…

Believe that's our first sweep of the season.

Just call him 4-0 Bo

I noticed all year that he simply cannot hit a major league fastball. Today I counted eight fastballs. He took one for a strike, fouled one off, and swung and missed six of them, including one that was under his chin - not even close to being a strike.

The one he fouled off was right down the middle on a 3-1 count, the kind of pitch most hitters dream about and attack with gusto. Arias swung late without any conviction and fouled it off. Manning immediately got on him (which is extremely rare for him to criticize ANY Guardians player). "Swing like a man", Manning said. He was frustrated at what he saw was a defensive swing on a 3-1 count, like Arias was just trying to spoil a close pitch with two strikes. I can't remember Manning ever getting angry at a Guardians player and questioning his manhood.

Arias needs to go back down and play everyday. He clearly can't hit an average fastball even in the center of the zone.

Finally sweeping a series is a cause for celebration even if it's against a team that may not win 40 games. Sears was in total command until Bell unloaded on him.

That had to be the first time this season that Straw hit a ball off the wall. I can't remember it happening this year or last.

Rosario swung at a 3-1 pitch that almost hit him with the bases loaded in the 8th, but fortunately the next pitch was well out of the zone and he walked anyway.

It looked like yet another one-run game until the A's brought in a guy who couldn't throw a strike until he gave up three runs.

These are the teams we need to beat and we ended 5-1 against Oakland. Milwaukee will be a tougher test.

I know Bell homered today, but he has basically brought nothing to the table.
Freeman could play 3rd and Jose DH (it’s been done, let’s try it again).
Freeman could play SS and Rosario could DH or sit against a righty.
Freeman could play 2B and Gimenez could DH or have a night off.
Freeman could DH
All of these scenarios would take Bell out of the lineup more often.
And take Arias out of the lineup more often.
