2023 Season | Series #24 | A's @ Guardians | June 20-22, 2023

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Sponge Bob was in a deep deep funk, for whatever reason. But he has finally come alive.

In June his OPS is .857 with 10 XBHs in only 68 at bats.

In spite of his two months of travail, he still has an overall OPS of .830 vs lefties, which would be higher than any RH bat we have, except Amed.

It might be time to get him back up here and let Arias get regular time in Columbus. Would also let Freeman play more, which he should. But I'm sure they have certain things they are watching for to tell when Oscar is ready. He won't play every day when he comes back up as long as Brennan is around.

The wins are good, but, man, Oakland is terrible. They have some live arms but they make the White Sox look like a bunch of gold glovers.
Sadly, Kansas City is almost just as bad.

I'm with you there, I'm a Freeman fan. I think how management has handled him has been extremely poor.

Hence why I kind of wanted a veteran or a player like Ernie Clement in his spot... I'd rather see him playing everyday at AAA than barely playing in the bigs...

Bell by month:
March/April: .206, 89 wRC+
May: .247, 96 wRC+
June: .265, 113 wRC+

Maaaaybe not quite Ernie Clement, maybe like a Mike Aviles kind of. Or even a Jason Kipnis when he was playing second and a bit of outfield.

Not sure Spongebob is the answer yet. He's actually striking out MORE in June (26.3%).

Hard to see him as close to the same guy he was last year when he's still having trouble hitting the ball in AAA.

I actually want him to be the guy getting every day ABs because we know he can do it as he already has before.

But you get the point. Someone who doesn't have anymore upside, but still can play...

Clement has positive bWAR with Toronto at the moment... With how little Freeman has been playing though, it wouldn't really matter to much who is in that spot...

.294/.342/.515 in June...

Schneemann is a lefty but he deserves his cup of coffee at this point. 26 years old and seems to be putting it together as a utility guy in AAA. Though I see him more as someone that you might be able to sell to another team in need of a utility guy and get back a lotto ticket because we have way more than enough infielders.

.294/.342/.515 in June...
Low sample size stats with high strikeouts = scary in how it translates to the MLB especially when he had made way more contact in the MLB. If he's going to succeed with the way he plays defense and doesn't walk he's gotta get that K rate back in the teens.

And it's so odd to me because last year Tito, IMO, did a pretty decent job of getting everyone playing time, even guys who quite frankly didn't deserve it. And this year it's the polar opposite.

He's got his reasons, but we don't exactly know them...

I can't agree with the amount of time Freeman has been playing...

You seriously can't say with a straight face this team is a World Series contender. Whether we end up winning the division or not, we won't stand a chance to make noise.
I'll quote you accurately here, more accurately than you quoted yourself. "we won't stand a chance to make noise". Someone saying "anything can happen" gets you to quash it 3 times, then that poster says it isn't worth it so he'll go back to lurking.

Nice job.

Then I make a sarcastic response and Q decides to take me out of context and argue. I guess I'll go back to lurking myself.
