2023 Summer League Champs

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
That is incorrect..

Merrill has a non-guaranteed contract that guarantees on 1/10/2024..

So if the Cavs need to get further away from the tax or open up another roster spot, Merrill is likely the first one to go..
It's guaranteed at the league minimum. I have Merril as at least as good as most league minimum options you'd sign to replace him. If the Cavs want to open up a third two-way, the move is to just sign I. Mobley to a league minimum deal now. It is very unlikely that he'll ever develop into more than a league-minimum player so sacrificing the year of team control over him doesn't really matter.

Spotrac has Merrill with no guaranteed money for this year or next -- not even at the minimum..

Merrill got guaranteed money at signing last year but nothing moving forward..

Merrill's greatest impact will likely be as a filler in a trade before it guarantees..

You mentioned the October guarantee date. That is what I was referring to. It's not the end of the world if it comes and goes and he's still on the roster.

Bates hitting a 3 against Brooklyn:

Yet again, second on the team in real plus/minus. Merrill led despite a poor shooting day.

You can see how he can help filling in all the gaps. The blocks though, wow. Also love the announcer saying "Wow" on that tip in

1 more year?

Brobley was great in the end. He has impressed. Really think he will see some NBA mins this year.

Also he sounds like the randos I play online games with so that will take some vetting used to
I thought he had a chance to be a servicable NBA player. I think he should be on the roster as the 3rd center this year and could be the main back-up by next year.
There is nothing really to be gained by sending him or the 27 year old Merrill to the charge. Would like to see them both on the roster and give the 3 two ways to bates, nance and porter jr.

I hope the coaching staff remains the same on the charge for this year. They do a great job in development. Maybe none of these guys become all stars but it's nice to fill out the bench with young "home grown" talent

Luke is a glue guy, no doubt. Won’t stuff the box score, not super sthletic, not a great shooter, but he turns the crank that moves the needle towards a W, sort of like Varejao used to. I had hoped Okor could be a guy like that, but for some reason he often moved it the other way.

think Merrill is at the vet league min, so i dont think his contract counts toward the tax lines. I think he could be a good piece to be included in a trade though as it is non guranteed.

Is there anyone out there that is asking why the Cavs are going to the summer league finals even though they have no touted picks on the team? Rockets team is full of 2nd year NBA players and top 20 picks. Obviously, the Cavs have some older guys like Merril adn Porter jr, but still the pedigree of Houston's team is 10x that of the cavs

We were swimming in the pool yesterday and I was crouched over the computer watching some ball in the garage and my friends were like "What in f**K is this basketball game"

Normies have no idea summer league exists lol

Luke Travers is gonna be a nice, sound, all around backup next season after a year of playing on the same team as Delly and working on getting stronger and faster, and working on his 3 ball.

He has a feel for the game. He makes good passes, rebounds, cuts to the basket when his defender turns his head.
