Game Thread | Game #1 | Cavs @ Nets | Oct. 25, 2023

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Our guards have been allergic to boxing out since Eric Snow. It was a key reason we lost in 15 and definetly hurt in 17.

I was very much a man who bitched and bitched about Kyrie and JR Smith just standing and staring as the shots went up.

I distinctly remember posting after one of the Finals losses the massive disparity between Curry's rebounding and our guards. It literally lost us a game.

And it's also something that has held Kyrie back. Never, ever does the small stuff. Never does the dirty work.

That is, unfortunately, very much in Garland's blood too.

Mitchell is guilty of it as well, though he sometimes wows with his athletic ability and grabs some offensive boards because of it.

Trade him.
Dude no one is giving up anything of value for LeVert until next year when he's on an expiring contract. Strus and LeVert make the same amount of money. Think about that from a potential trade partners perspective.

We squeezed a victory against a stacked Nets team. I couldn't have asked for better start to the season. Strus is as advertised. Okoro being aggressive was a sight to behold. Mitchell did Mitchell things.

LeVert forced a ton of shots, but I thought he was a positive on the court with his playmaking.

I don't understand the JBB slander, it's been a thing since last season. Doing a coaching change & starting from scratch isn't necessarily optimal imo.

Adding Dave Joerger to our staff is huge. We have the best coaching staff in the NBA with him & Walton.

First JYD goes to Strus and Okoro

Kinda wish they changed the name of the chain. The playoff embarrassment tainted the junkyard name. Would have also been ok with them not bringing it back and just doing a game ball for player of the game.

In tonight’s game I don’t think he had much choice. Strus was on fire and the Cavs didn’t have quality depth behind him.

If he had sat more and the Cavs had lost JB would get all the hate for taking him out. The hive mind has decided he isn’t good enough so now he can do no right.
I understand, and honestly our bench may need some personnel changes, but really, JBB has to find a way to rest his guys over the course of an 82-game season because deep teams are our kryptonite.

What's the deal with all the JBB slander? I think he's done a decent job.
He definitely chose the right starting lineup. I’ll give him that.

All starters had a positive +/- while all 4 bench players were negative. But the eye test could have told you that.

Dare I say JA should come off the bench when he comes back…

LOL, you gave him 1 game out of 82 and said Strus would be injured in a couple months.

I completely missed this news. Even if he's just watching advance film for future opponents, that's awesome.

Can someone explain the pinky to the teeth thing? Comes off as a little.....Dwight Howard'ish.
