Week 8: Browns @ Seahawks 4PM

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Idk man I would’ve thrown it but I also would have said taking a sack needs to be viewed as a positive outcome of this play if it’s not there don’t force it

But then it was like…. There and a helmet fucked everything up. Idk if Walker even forced it

Problem with that throw is even without that helmet that throw is not to an open receiver. He had ford wide open on a check down. Previously, he had moore on a wide open crosser.

If you're afraid to call a pass play because your QB might throw an interception, you're in the wrong business.

This is the NFL. These guys are professionals. It was a slant and it hit a helmet. Shit happens.

Hope this forces Berry and Stefanski to get a legit backup QB. PJ just cannot make reads.
How do you propose doing that?

Both in regards to acquisition cost and that QB coming in and learning an offense on the fly during the middle of the season

Whatever.. We lost

That's the outcome

Being right about what should have happened doesn't matter.

Running the ball made sense there.

They weren't stopping it... at worst we make them drive 80 to win it.

I don't care what "every NFL team might have done" It is PJ Walker... a guy who almost threw an int vs the 49ers at the end.

4-3

That's the record. Should be 5-2.

He didn't force it. Jamal Adams didn't even make the play. The ball bounced off his helmet.

Jerome Ford was wide open for a 5 yard check down.

Running wouldn’t have been coaching scared.

Neither playcall guaranteed a first down.

He chose the option that contains more inherent risk and when that risk was actualized, took away either a running first down or a much higher probability of success for the defense that a punt and flipped field would have provided

The conversion rate on 3rd and 3 is much higher passing than it is running.

Yes it's more risky, but you're playing to win the game.

The clock was stopping no matter what on that play. If he throws an incompletion or we run and get stopped short.

Jesus Christ bruhs

Stop being scared. These guys get paid to be out there and make plays. Both sides. Our offense and their defense.

Coaches do not call plays based out of fear and regret.

The same we SEA made plays and caught breaks today is the same way we did the last 2 weeks.

CHILL.

Both our offense and defense collapsed when it mattered...that should have been a win.

Under these circumstances I'm not surprised PJ shat the bed, but disappointed our D just handed over 7 with basically no resistance.
This^

That's not how you approach 3rd and 3 with 2:01 on the clock. You call a play that gives you the best chance at a first down. A passing play is the call because the clock stops no matter what. Running the ball there does nothing.
The clock argument holds no weight for me. On 3 and 3….

Passing play may have higher statistical chance of 1st down success but it also has a higher rate of inherent risk

Run play from the down and distance still has chance of first down and less inherent risk.

If first down fails, you give your defense a much better scenario, with SEA having to drive 75-90 yards instead of 45

The assumption that just because they scored after the turnover means they would have also easily scored starting at the 15-20 is a bad one.

For this game, this scenario, this personnel, the way he had chosen to call the game in the entire 4th quarter, running was the right play

Dude you absolutely take into account that pj walker is allergic to keeping the ball.

It's so obvious in fact that it was the difference in the game and everyone here knew not to do it
