2023-24 Season | Game #56 | Cavs @ Wizards | Feb. 25, 2024 | 6 p.m.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
There were two turnovers two plays in a row and they were both on LeVert.
Sure they were. There’s no point in arguing with you. I’m finished responding to and/or reading your posts . Learn how to watch a basketball game . Feel free to hit the ignore button as I am about to

If NBA.com numbers are correct...

Our starting 5 while DG and Mobley were injured had a Net Rating of +19.6 (Micthell, Okoro, Strus, Wade, and Allen)

For reference, this is better than any other teams starting 5. Denver starters is +13.2, Bucks +15.3, Celts +11.7, Clippers +12.6

Guess how many minutes that Cavs lineup has played since DG/Mobleys return... 17 minutes. SEVENTEEN minutes in 11 games. Best lineup in NBA.

I haven't bashed JB at all this year outside of playing Niang too much... but this is a fireable offense. I get that they aren't going to start together anymore, but how is this lineup not getting extended run together every single game?

One week from today, we play the Knicks. I know they’re beat up but I want that game bad. I hope the team has that one circled

Won't happen. Most will hid and only appear when DG is struggling. I have no idea why the hate for him. It is absurd.
It’s not hate. It’s just a recognition that the team has not played as well with him than they did without him (a trend that we’ve now seen the past two seasons).

Garland had 17 points and 7 assists, shot 40% from the field and 33% from deep, and had 4 TOs. The Cavs squeaked by against a 9-win Wizards team that was missing several key players (to the extent that a 9-win team can have “key” players). It’s not the game I would pick to crow about Garland’s performance. Maybe we’ve really lowered the expectations bar for max contract players?

Again: not hating. The best outcome is still Garland and Mitchell figuring out how to thrive together. I’m just not seeing it, even with the rosiest goggles I own.

Ignoring me won't make you less wrong, but you do you.

When Garland and Mobley came back, the team went 9-1. Too many people are using the first 2 games out of the all star break to make these humongous statements about the team. I saw the old “Garland ain’t clutch” stuff come back the last two games. It’s like his go-ahead step back 3 on one of the best defenders in the NBA (Caruso) literally the game before the All Star Break just didn’t happen. Nope. That game never happened because it was before the All Star Break.

Recency bias is a real thing (especially when it fits certain posters narratives)

The problem with relying upon data derived from games against non-playoff teams is that it's not instructive in terms of what's going to work against playoff team.

I think there’s a big difference beat “Garland Sucks” and “Garland is not doing as well with the current team as he did when Mitchell wasn’t here and he ran the show.”

That DG - Mitchell - Vert - Strus - Allen lineup is quite effective offensively. Mitchell was gassed and standing in the corner but Vert did some work to get Garland a wide open three.

We’re not making any moves with this group until the summer so let’s see if more time together against tougher opposition works or not. There’s a lot of talent and skills available so let’s see if they can make it work. Ideally they ALL adjust a bit.
