2023-24 Season | Game #65 | Suns @ Cavs | March 11, 2024 | 7:30 p.m.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Garland had a great game. When the Suns double teamed, we did not adjust. They blitzed Garland causing not to get Garland in position to make a move or score. It was the same thing over and over. The last play Garland made was great to Allen but Allen unfortunately could not grab the ball. I have yet to see adjustments made when opposing teams blitz our guards offensively.
And Garland’s response was to keep dribbling and keep moving further away from the basket. How about either resuming pushing the ball up the floor thereby not allowing the double teams and/or getting rid of the damn ball faster? What a novel concept

It would be even better if we had a point guard who doesn't make risky passes late in games.........................................

JA got the ball, so it was pretty much on target.

Hard to see PHX as a true contender, their top 3 all shot 50%+ and they barely hung on against a depleted Cavs team.

They are not. No defense to get the job done. Unless there are a number of injuries out west they have no shot. Denver would eat them alive.

Nope. The response is for Niang and Okoro to make open shots. Both failed

Dude,

He threw a wide open alley opp to Allen and he bobbled it. He threw a pass to a wide ass open pass to Okoro and he didn’t know where his feet were and stepped OOB.
I could see at home okoro was out of bounds but garland panics in late game situations.

Went back and watched and the oop from Garland was bad. Too high and hard. Maybe Allen could have brought it down and went back up, but you have a big catch radius from Allen to finish a dunk and the pass was off.

The next possession, Garland just stuck Okoro in an awful spot. Okoro was weaving across the court and before he could get back in the play Garland put a pass on him and he had no time to react.

Toss in the missed lay up that iced the game and it's another extremely forgettable crunch time for Darius. Appreciate the early heroics that set the tone, but the trend of sloppy play when the game is on the line continues.

I get the team has a lot of injuries, but u are on a back to back situation. Why is Garland almost playing almost the whole 3rd quarter? JBB constantly has his players too fatigued at the end of the game

stop making excuses for a max player not doing max player things
He threw the ball to Okoro for a wide open 3. Okoro takes a jump to his right out of bounds. That is NOT garland’s fault.

I live in Scottsdale and watched the Suns broadcast. They were wondering why Okoro felt the need to jump to his right out of bounds

Our offense disintegrating when Garland got blitzed was the exact issue we had two years ago and led to the DM trade, we still haven’t solved it when Mitchell isn’t in and Garland hasn’t learned to handle it on his own

Don't agree. The oop was perfect. Allen dropped it. Okoro in a awful spot??? Nope. It you can't move it again, you can't play in the nba. Okoro had a bad night.

So much this. He's played well in the reg-lar season but he struggles mightily against physical centers. Just makes him so uncomfortable.
