Game 82 | Cavaliers vs. Sixers | April 15th, 2009 | 8:00 PM EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
No, it's not even "prejudice." It's simply a guy who has an opinion that one particular player, Sasha, is a bonehead because he plays an unintelligent brand of basketball despite his occasional bouts of good shooting. It's one guy who recognizes that you can't encapsulate a player's total game by reading a stat line.

occasional.... lol :chuckles:

it really does seem like you try to downplay anything he does though so i can see where taki is coming from

although to be fair hes got a really bad ft shooting average this year, maybe the shooting coach should get him to practice free throws more

Congrats bench, you played one hell of a game that the fans deserved to see. You proved when you get the time you will shine.
I hate to be a conspiritor but, does anyone have any opinions on the FT diff?
O and I 2nd, did they show the chalk toss?

If this was Delonte's stat line, no one would say anything

Because Delonte plays great defense and makes smart decisions when he's not contributing in other ways. He hasn't been consistent all season, though, and he got a lot of grief for the 15 games after his injury. By all those pesky Delonte-ists.

Regardless whether it is racism or not, it is prejudice and is unwarranted!

Let the "racism" issue go. It has nothing to do it. It's just making your posts less credible.

"Regardless whether" makes absolutely no sense. It isn't racism. Unless you're arguing that Sasha is so special he qualifies as the sole member of the Sasha-opean race. :chuckles:

Now, if you want to say that he's prejudiced against boneheads, then you would probably be right. I, too, would fall into the "prejudiced against boneheads" group.

Craytlus, I had no idea you were a boneheadist. I'm going to have to process this.

definitely some dirty business going on in the nba, gets me back to remember the dallas-miami finals and the kings lakers series from a few years ago

and i mean the fact that donaghy was caught fixing the games, and then said that some series were fixed when he has nothing to lose says a lot. I just hope they dont mess up the playoffs, but even with extra free throws I think the cavs can take it down(unless they play against the lakers)

he is japanese man, i dont think you can speak and write japanese perfectly so why not leave him alone on that? english isnt his first language obviously, and he seems to know it pretty good. and he was talking about him being serbian not white.

Nobody is disputing the fact that Sasha shot the ball well tonight; what some of us are saying, and that some of you don't seem to understand, is that there is more to a player's total game than his stat line. Look at the game we played against the Clippers in LA. Zach Randolph finished that game with 20 pts on 7-16 shooting, 12 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block. If you looked at just his stat line you would have to conclude that the guy played a great game. But if you actually WATCHED THE GAME AND ITS INTRICACIES you would know that Randolph played like a bonehead. 4 turnovers, pathetic defense, multiple examples of selfish play, and one of the worst examples of shot selection with about 6 seconds left and the game on the line. Everyone here mocked Zach for his pathetic play DESPITE the good stat line.

This is the same reason why many of us here don't like Sasha. Despite the good numbers he put up tonight, the guy plays like a bonehead most of the time.

I have no problems at all with Taki's English (yours on the other hand...). He makes good contributions, and he loves the Cavs. By quoting "regardless whether", I was not saying that you can't make an English sentence that starts that way. You can. Instead, I was disputing a sentence that starts out with something like "It doesn't really matter if it's racism or not." It does matter to me. Call it unfair standards for Sasha. That's fine. But when posters write "regardless whether it's racism or not", I think it's fair that they get called out for making that assumption.

If someone's going to use the term "racist", get corrected by multiple posters, and then still use it as if it applies to this situation, then they're going to be corrected again and again. It has nothing to do with a poster's background or where they're from.

As for me, you have no idea what my background is or what languages I speak or write, so don't make assumptions on an Internet message board. That is pretty uninformed and tacky, to put it mildly. I'll just say that my family ties to Japan are intimately close. Does that somehow change your idea of my posts? It shouldn't unless you've been making racial assumptions of your own.

No, he normally defends very well and I am sure that is most of what he will be doing next time he plays when he is in his normal role(if he gets any playing time).

And if Zach Randolph weren't in that game they wouldn't ever be in a position for a chance to win the game, empty stats or not.

When Sasha defends well, you complain about his scoring. When Sasha shoots and scores well, you complain about his defense.

All of this "Sasha sucks" shit needs to end right now.

Good luck with that one on RCF :chuckles:

And I'm not a Sasha-hater. I'm a wish-Sasha-was-even-better guy.

Tell you what... you take a team of boneheads who put up good numbers and I'll take a team of non-boneheads who put up good numbers and we'll have them play 100 games against each other and we'll see which team wins the most games.

what bonehead thing are you even complaining about? sasha is only averaging 0.7 TO this season: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/stats?playerId=2172

obviously since he was asked to carry the team today he's going to have more, he's usually a solid 3 pt shooter and defender, and that is his role, and that wasn't his role today.

edit:

and hes never averaged more than 1.5, where as mo has averaged 2.2 TO this season(also nothing) and lebron 3 TO (also obviously nothing)

Pavs carried the team today? I could of sworn it was Wally/Boobie who scored 19 points in that 4th quarter to keep us in the game and of course he is averaging 0.7 to's. The guy doesn't play.....

All of this "Sasha sucks" shit needs to end right now.

He's a role player, that's a given, and tonight, he (along with Boobie and Wally) were asked to carry the team. Believe it or not, he was our starter at the 2 on a year we went to the championship, and would be in almost any other teams regular rotation/starting lineup, but we just happen to have 12-15 guys who are legit.

All this bullshit talk about him is flat out ridiculous. He has played better than Delonte at some points this season.

False.

No one asked Sasha to carry anything. We could have used a team effort but Sasha was a black hole who SUCKS. He is a turnover machine, yet he's so dumb that he continues to drive and take stupid, off balance shots. And don't even get me started about those free throws. :chuckles:

I don't know if anyone was sitting near section 205 tonight but if you heard anti-Sasha chants all night, that was my party. :)

Sasha Pavlovic, go to hell.

That said, that was one heckuva game and I had a blast. I honestly couldn't give two ****s about the home record. What a fun way to end the season!
