Thats my dream offseason for this year.

TMac?? Ouch. Id rather make a run at Redd over TMac.

Redd? Ouch, I'd rather make a run at AK-47 over Redd and T-Mac.

Tmac? Really? Can someone verify that was actually W&G posting and not Heath hacking into W&G's account and posting?

Haha T-Mac?? That dude is so talented that its a shame how he wastes it. Fakes these injuries, takes a lot of shots, not really a winner, etc. I will say that in the playoffs he seems like a different player, especially last year when the Rockets lost Yao. T-Mac elevates his game in the post season, a 6-8 SG wouldnt be so bad... W&G was probably just throwing his name out there, atleast I hope

someone said it earlier in this thread but Jermaine Taylor out of UCF is an excellent scoring sg which we could really use.

Redd? Ouch, I'd rather make a run at AK-47 over Redd and T-Mac.

Not saying Redd is a good option but just how terrible of an option TMac is. Im not sure I could even cheer for that guy.

If TMac can be healthy and affective like in years past then i would want him but it seems like there are so many ifs when talking about TMac it might be too risky of a move.

I think this is a realistic trade

Cavs get:
Gerald Wallace
Raja Bell

Bobcats get:
Vince Carter
Tarence Kinsey

Nets get:
Wally(assuming we resign him to a 1 year deal worth enough)
Cavs 2nd round

I believe that Delonte's longterm role on this team will eventually be coming off the bench. He would have great value in that capacity in that he his so very versatile, and would be a tough match for any team having to cover for him with their second units on the floor.

So, that is where I see his future in Cleveland. Given that, I truly feel our greatest potential for improvement for the dollar value may best come at the SG position. I'm anxious to see how Tracy McGrady recovers from his surgery, I see that as a potnetial option contingent on his physical.

Other intersting options exist throughout the NBA. I'm curious as to what Detroit's plans are for some of their players. Might some be available ? Should explore.

Chris Wilcox is a guy that intersts me for paint options. ZaZa Pachulia would be an excfellent pickup that would complient out team very very well in my opinion... he just popped out as a great option in my opinion. Matt Barnes stands out right now ....of course Rasheed Wallace has made it known he wants to come here, and he'd love to play here.

Very early in the process and no plans are even close to being solidified.. But his name would fit here depending on what our future player mix is.

But, I would be anticipating a strong roster addtion at the SG position this offseason.

A McGrady and Sheed offseason? :chuckles:

Sweet

If those are the kind of additions we can expect I'd rather just stand pat

If McGrady is even 75% healthy, he gives us 17ppg. Sheed although is not as good as he once was, provides bulk and toughness in the paint, that we needed about 2 weeks ago.

And there is a chance they could potentially come cheap?

Sweet

The options out there just don't hit it for me like trading for someone. I bet we could get somebody now, especially with the new flexibility we have for acquiring free agents.

In 2008, we made the trade but weren't looking to get a soft buy, aside from the smaller options with potential.

In 2007, we were pigeon-holded with 2 guys in over their heads and had some false beliefs that being the top 2 team in the league meant staying pat and keeping the roster was the best bet.

In 2006, our roster was set with what we had last year. Flip wasn't going to be kept and LeBron re-signed.

That just leaves the 2005 year in the Ferry/Brown Era. If people had felt we were reliable, we could've acquired somebody better, but the inexperience of our front office didn't help.

Now that people have seen our roster in action for 4 years, and we are a viable contender, even though this is Cleveland... I could see people wanting to play for us a little more. Who knows, who, but the guys that attract me are few and far in between.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Unrestricted Agents:
Jason Kidd
Andre Miller
Wally Szcerbiak
Trevor Ariza
Matt Barnes
Joe Smith
Steve Novak
Zaza Pachulia

These guys are the only ones that don't have a price tag on them (or don't need to pay as much). 5 are pretty obvious in value, but Wally makes for a cheap vet minimum guy as does Joe. Steve I feel would fit in just fine with the ability to shoot the three. He could even replace Wally if needed (although he does seem to not rebound well, but threes can help us in my opinion).
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Restricted Agents:
Ramon Sessions
Raymond Felton
Nate Robinson
Luther Head
Jarrett Jack
Linas Kleiza
Ike Diogu
Jamario Moon
Marvin Williams
David Lee
Paul Millsap

The reason why I said I had little to no interest is because most of the good prospects are restricted free agents. You can't freely get them the same way. But there's some interest here too:

All five point guards are a given. They interest me for their ability to penetrate. Kleiza actually interests me as a defender, scorer, and a fellow Lithuanian man for Z to talk to. It might help to have someone from the same country for motivation. And Kleiza has proven to score a lot in games, so he's definitely attractive as a piece. Ike could really help with his size and ability to defend and provide offense. Moon has defensive length, though he really started his career a little late. Marvin would be attractive, if he can stay healthy. Lee is good as a power forward with offense, but I'm unsure of his defense. Millsap is a given, although I doubt he's affordable.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Early Termination Option Agents:
Jamal Crawford
Mehmet Okur
Anderson Varejao
Zydrunas Ilgauskas

Assuming none of these guys pick up their option, they're all good for me. Andy and Z are a given, but Z's probably gonna pick up the option while Andy won't. Andy should be resigned, but I don't think it should be for more than 9 Million. The other two have value in being threats as scorers. Hopefully we could afford them, but I doubt it...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Those are my objects of interest. I can't say there's a chance of getting many of them, but hopefully the Cavs could find some common ground with somebody.

I don't care what we do, as long as it makes sense.

In the discussion of whether to make moves now or only make small short term moves now in order to save and make a free agency run in 2010, I feel the Cavs would have to feel almost totally guaranteed that they can sign a major 2010 FA if they're going to wait and not add any big salary this offseason.
Also if they wait until 2010 it needs to be for a player who's 30 or under. It doesn't make a lot of sense to not try to add quality talent now only to then sign a fading player on the wrong side of 30.
Ages at the start of the 2010 season for some 2010 FA's:
Bosh-26
Stoudemire-28
Wade-28
J. Johnson-29
R. Jefferson-30
Yao-30
Redd-31
R. Jefferson-30
Nowitzki-32
Ginobili-33
R. Allen-35

W&G brought up some interesting names. If the Cavs decide to go cheaper and only for a part time C than Pachulia does make sense and I think he would fit.
Barnes is definitely on my list of affordable wing player types. I'd put J. Moon and A. Parker there too.

I'm not high on Wilcox. He has some of the Gooden syndrome in him and I'm not sure he can be reliable player. He'd have to come on a cheap 1 year deal and only if better options can't be found.
