For anyone who actually bothered to read the final clarification report from the police, there are a number of things that stand out.
1) The female involved was extremely intoxicated.
2) All her friends were also very intoxicated but the so-called victim was in worse shape than her friends.
3) Brantley was sitting there, sober, waiting to give his female friend a ride home and the so-called victim and her friends completely instigated this.
4) The so-called victim was the one who initiated violence, going after Brantley while he was trying to walk away.
5) Brantley by his own admission made contact with the so-called victim in an attempt to "get her out of his space", which is 100% within his rights in FLA.
6) The so-called victim was too drunk to remember what happened or to give a believable or verifiable version of her story.
7) The stories of the so-called victim's friends were not consistent, did not match up.
8) The story Brantley gave from the beginning matched what eye witnessed said including at least one witness who was otherwise uninvolved and did not know Brantley. The other statements that agreed with Brantley's version was from people who knew him.
9) The so-called injuries to the so-called victim appear to have been greatly exaggerated if there even were any injuries at all. The victim was not "knocked out". There is video of her and her friends walking away shortly after the incident. There was no medical help requested or called.
10)Brantley was sober and wasn't out partying that night.
11) In the video of the females walking away one of them apologizes to either Brantley or his friends.
12) The attorney for the so-called victim tried to get Brantley to pay her a cash settlement in the days after it happened which was emphatically rejected by Brantley and his attorney.
Add to that - Brantley knew it was a few weeks before the NFL draft.
How on earth could anyone say Brantley did anything wrong that night? This was not "inconclusive proof" or anything remotely in that universe. This was clearly an extremely intoxicated female and her intoxicated friends stirring up shit then trying to get paid when she found out he was about to enter the NFL.Nothing more, nothing less.
If anything Brantley should sue her for extortion but no doubt he just wants this all behind him. As has been mentioned it has already cost him millions.
For all I know Brantley could be a POS or whatever but he clearly wasn't on that night, he was the only victim.
The Browns benefited greatly from this and good for them. I hope it all works out for Brantley and it will as long as he does his part. In this matter he does not need a second chance, he should get an apology.
He won't get paid what his probable worth is until his second contract. He'll never make up the money he lost that night.
