2009 Free Agent List

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
My points of interest from that list:

Lower Card
in no particular order:

Rashad McCants (I've only seen a little from him but I've been impressed with what he can do with his minutes)
Steve Novak (6-10, 40% from the 3. Under Mike Brown (no homo) he could learn to play defense and come off the bench)
Sean May (He's decent when he gets minutes)
Chris Wilcox (He had a few good years in Seattle, but I know a bunch of you aren't high on him)
Joey Graham (Backup sf)
Leon Powe (He could turn into a better version of AV, but he's injured and Boston might re sign him)

Household names:

Channing Frye (Budding talent)
Zaza Pachulia (Energy, gets under players skin, probably staying home but more likely than Odom)
Hakim Warrick (always been high on him and he could be a good backup forward)

For the lower card names, they are all pretty young and most contracts are pretty decent. Therefore, they are low risk/high reward and could stay here for a few years.

the next list includes higher risks, larger contracts and some names that might not even be considered. But either way, they are all under 28 and could possibly be starters at their respective positions.

I think most of these guys would be solid on our team, and we wont have to break the bank to get them.

Celtics renounced Powes rights, so Im not sure if they can sign him.
Hakim Warrik was give a QO, probably will be matched.
Zaza will probalby be resigned by Atlanta, just a guess.

I'm very intrigued by a possible Steve Novak, Anthony Parker FA.

Novak is definitely someone who could come in and play stretch PF minutes.

Didn't W&G thank a couple posts with CJ Miles in them. I think we may be targeting him as a backup PG.

I'm still quite keen on the idea of Brandon Bass joining us.

CJ Miles is a SF. 6'6 227lbs.

Averaged 9.1 points on 46% shooting, 35% from 3 in 22 minutes. Decent stats. He probably got a lot of easy looks in Utah's system.

Above average defender, and 35% from 3 is decent. He is athletic too. He's only 22 years old.

I guess he could be a decent under the radar last resort.

I think he meant CJ Watson, the PG.

A few names that caught my eye:

Jarret Jack: There were reports we were targeting a back-up PG in the draft, I think he would look good off the bench. Could get really good value with part of MLE or the BAE if we split the MLE between Parker and a PF.

Steve Novak: Young and will come cheap. He could fill Lorenzen's role as the 4/5 big except Novak can actually still play basketball. Also, he can really heat up from three and with all the open looks Shaq/LeBron will create he may be able to give some valuable minutes.

Al Harrington: Most likely not the best option, but can get by guarding the 3/4 postitions and can hit open shots, could thrive here, but probably costs to much with what we are trying to do.

Jamario Moon: Very athletic wing, may be next option if Parker falls through.

Just some names we haven't really discussed and may not fit our needs, but could still be valuable to our team if we have some money left to throw around after we get our PF and big SG.

And did I see Mr. triple double himself, Ricky Davis is out there too :chuckles:

marvin williams and josh childress are the only two guys worth full MLE at this stage. all others should be on one year deals. if the cavs just wait it out, you never know who will fall into their laps. if atlanta has agreed to a 3yr deal with bibby, just brough in crawford and still has williams and childress to deal with, they may very well have let one of those two guys go.

Sean May, Steve Novak, and Channing Frye have the interest of a lot of teams at the moment.
Novak can literally give minutes at the 3pt stripe at SF, PF. and against uptempo teams C.
