Oh I don't make any educated guesses. I make guesses based on personal biases, my thoughts on each team, and sometimes coin flips.

That too (although I try to limit it to the thoughts on each team. )

The interesting thing one analyst <a href="http://www.nbastuffer.com/Rest_Days_Analysis_According_to_New_Schedule.html">did</a> last year was look at strength of schedule for each team based on back-to-backs, which was a big wildcard last year on the compressed schedule.

It tended to be relatively "fair" in giving weaker teams better opportunities, as were the inter-conference matchups (the top East teams tended to get two each of OKC and SA games and one each of the other West teams, while the weaker ones got, say, two SAC and MIN games and one each of the rest.)

I always go to Cleveland for about a week during Christmas time. Last few years I've caught a game while there. Looks like the Dec 28th vs Atlanta game is the most likely.
