Some fascinating stuff in here. I love these things when they come out each year.

http://www.nba.com/news/features/2012-gm-survey/

Couple of my favorite items:

  • Overwhelming consensus that Kyrie will be ROY, and will be the best 2011 class rookie in 5 years.
  • Mike Brown got more than one vote for coach with the best offense. love the guy, but c'mon now.
  • Not a single Miami player even got a vote for Best Leader or Player with Highest BB IQ...15 players other than then got at least one vote. None for miami players.
  • Nobody picked Lebron James for someone you want taking the last shot.

And Miami overwhelmingly wins the vote for the championship.

Which head coach runs the best offense?

1. George Karl, Denver -- 22.2%
2. Rick Adelman, Minnesota -- 18.5%
T3. Rick Carlisle, Dallas -- 11.1%
T3. Gregg Popovich, San Antonio -- 11.1%
T5. Mike Brown, L.A. Lakers -- 7.4%
T5. Mike D'Antoni -- New York -- 7.4%

The Cavaliers were 4th and 6th in the league in offensive efficiency in Mike's last two seasons. The Heat with all their weapons, were 3rd and are currently 4th.

The Spurs have been a top offensive team the past few years, the Nuggets have been around the top for a while, Carlisle is perhaps over-rated considering what he's inherited, D'Antoni is running on rep.

The GMs were polled before the season, so if the Lakers keep playing as they are (18th in offense), you won't see Mike in the offensive rankings next year.
