2013 NBA Preseason Game 7 -|- Wizards @ Cavs -|- October 23rd, 7:00PM.

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Dion out again? What the fuck :(

I expect the lineups/rotations tonight and tomorrow to be a little strange because of the back-to-back. Hard to see Kyrie playing in both games, so perhaps they decided to give him a little more time with Jack (since the Cavs have been trying out the 2 PG thing)?

This is Lloyd's writeup:

CINCINNATI: Jarrett Jack will start at point guard and Kyrie Irving will shift to shooting guard tonight when the Cavs face the Washington Wizards.

Coach Mike Brown's plan has been to play the two guards together in an effort to take some of the pressure off Irving and get him more looks around the perimeter.

Jack is returning after missing about nine days with inflammation in his knee, but he maintained all along it wasn’t serious and he could play if it was the regular season. With Dion Waiters (ankle) and C.J. Miles (leg) both out tonight, Brown is using this as an opportunity to play Jack and Irving extended minutes together.

“It’s good to be back,” Jack said. “It was tough sitting on the side watching my guys. Going through the process building chemistry and camaraderie, trying to be as good of a coach and best teammate as much as I can. Not being on the floor, there was nothing else I could do.”

Of all the injured players – and the list continues to grow – the only significant injuries seem to be Andrew Bynum (knees), Tyler Zeller (appendectomy) and Carrick Felix (hernia). The rest could play if it was the regular season.

So far I have Kyrie and Jarrett for the Cavs line-up. Why don't teams release the full starting 5 ahead of the game?

In the shootaround video on cavs.com, Brown said Clark would start at SF so it should be:

Jarrett Jack
Kyrie Irving
Earl Clark
Tristan Thompson
Anderson Varejao

Is Dion injured at all, or is Brown keeping him out of a second consecutive game for some stupid reason?
I understand Brown wants to build the Jack-Irving chemistry and see how effective Irving is at SG, but it's probably just as important (if not more so) that Kyrie and Dion build that same chemistry on-court.
Waiters is only starting his sophmore season, and has a lot to learn. The preseason minutes would probably help him a lot. And in fact, if you had to choose it's probably more important to play Waiters in the preseason than Irving.

Beal was drafted #3, the Cavs picked #4. Should we have a meltdown if Anthony Davis does well this year too?

There's never a good reason not have one.

Sorry i should've added  thought it was obvious

Line-ups for game 2 of this...

wait, sorry, wrong mode.

Starting 5 added to the OP!

Looking forward to the Jack - Kyrie combo. They could be the start of a fun small ball line up.

Dion is being held out as a precaution because of a mild ankle injury. In case others were wondering.

Varejao vs. Nene -- face off of the Brazilians. Should be a good matchup.
