Second only to his anti RGIII meltdown last year.
You just know how to get under my skin... :chuckles:
Second only to his anti RGIII meltdown last year.
I see no reason why the Browns couldn't win a Super Bowl someday behind Weeden.
To be fair to Alex Smith, he nearly did get them to a Super Bowl last year. If not for Kyle Williams, who knows what people would think of him.IF THIS GUY CAN'T WIN A SUPER BOWL IN SAN FRANCISCO WITH THAT DEFENSE, AND THOSE PLAYMAKERS, ON THAT STACKED TEAM, THERE IS BY NO MEANS, NO MEANS AT ALL, THAT HE COULD FUCKING WIN ONE WITH THE CLEVELAND BROWNS.
Brandon Weeden is older and not nearly as good as Smith.
If you don't want Smith because he is only on the borderline of elite QB, that's fine.
But Weeden has shown absolutely zero evidence of developing, so when you say they could win a ring with Pops it just sounds too ridiculous to sound credible.
Please. Tell me where in the last 7 years you got this from?

Dude, you're off on this one. Did you watch the NFC CG last year? If that dumbass didn't fumble on 2 punt returns, Alex Smith & the 49ers would have gone to the Super Bowl and probably would have won it. It was no fault of his own, he played great, just as he had all season and this season until he lost his job due to injury.
Alex Smith is a Super Bowl capable QB, and would be the best QB we've had (by far) since re-entering the league. I'd be ecstatic if we could land him. To hell with Weeden, chances are he'll never be a Super Bowl QB. Smith is a proven vet that can get it done.
Legitimate points. Doesn't change the fact he has the best defense in the NFL and is most assuredly a game manager.
If we do end up with Alex Smith I see us being an average at best team for years.
Well many teams have won Super Bowls with average (or even below average) offenses.
I think you may be underestimating Smith a little. But we'll see, he will be acquired by some team and used as "the man."I just don't advocate going out and getting a game-manager at this point in the rebuild. 5-11, and adding a mediocre QB who is better (right now) than the one we currently have isn't going to do to much to in my mind. I think that if we wait (with Weeden at QB) that better options will surely arise as we keep adding pieces and this team gets better, whether that be through the draft, or even Weeden actually panning out.

Alex Smith absolutely can win a Super Bowl and be an Elite QB.
There is no heinous flaw in his game that would prohibit this.
But there's been a guarantee that Weeden will be better, because.....
Well, nobody knows...but it's guaranteed.
Just my opinion. As a fan of the game.
You don't have to acknowledge or even agree with it, but jesus christ you're being a dick. Sorry we aren't all NFL Scouts like you who knows exactly who is going to be who in the league.
