2015 Cleveland Browns Training Camp Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Me too, but I did hear it was sold out

I think the Browns just released 10K more tickets. I'll be impressed if the Browns pull 70,000 fans for the scrimmage.

They're free tickets, so people have no obligation of going.

I'd imagine they'll get like 50K

Mingo out 2-4 weeks with torn meniscus

Better now, I suppose. Just doesn't give me a ton of confidence that he'll be good to go for the season after this is over.

You have know obligation to go if you pay for it too you know. :chuckle:

I think the term you are looking for is no skin in the game for free tickets.

I dont have a ton of confidence that Mingo will be good once he goes.

He's masquerading as a passable looking QB lately.

The Kool-Aid looks delicious.

Mingo is a bust. Not the worst bust of all time, but a bust nonetheless.

I'd call Mingo a reach that didn't pan out the way the Browns hoped. If getting a starting quarterback is the most impactful draft pick a team can make, an edge rusher is the second most impactful for a draft. They took a shot at Mingo because of his physical gifts, and now it looks like Scott Solomon is better at setting the edge. The team was trying to make Mingo more comfortable in coverage this week. It's not fully an admittance of a failed pick, but they are hoping he can be useful in a different way. That isn't promising.

Your 2013 top-10 picks....

1 Kansas City Chiefs - Eric Fisher OT

2 Jacksonville Jaguars - Luke Joeckel OT

3 Miami Dolphins - Dion Jordan DE

4 Philadelphia Eagles - Lane Johnson OT

5 Detroit Lions - Ezekiel Ansah DE

6 Cleveland Browns - Barkevious Mingo DE

7 Arizona Cardinals - Jonathan Cooper G

8 St. Louis Rams - Tavon Austin WR

9 New York Jets - Dee Milliner CB

10 Tennessee Titans - Chance Warmack G

Fisher starts, but isn't worthy of his pick. Joeckel is vastly underwhelming thus far in Jacksonville. Dion Jordan is out this year due to suspension. Lane Johnson is a beast. Ansah is pretty good, but not much more impactful than a healthy Mingo.. Mingo is always hurt. Jonathan Cooper is underwhelming. Tavon Austin is not impacting the Rams hardly at all. Dee Milliner is a certified bust. Chance Warmack is JAG.

I know it's training camp & their bodies aren't ready for the physical play/go out hard play yet, and I don't follow other cities beat writers on Twitter, but holy shit, any other team have as many injuries/"issues" that we do?

Manziel is definitely looking better. Training camp better. Let's see how he does in pre-season games.

EDIT: And it's official now-

@Soda that 2013 draft isn't setting the world on fire, and even at the time of the draft it seemed weak. I do think it's worth noting Shelton Richardson went to the Jets at #13, and he is one of the better 3-4 defensive ends in the NFL... but he could have smoked trees with Josh Gordon and been suspended. What can ya do?
