#26 for Bobby Bradley
Is our farm system as deep as it looks, or am I getting caught up in the hype?
I see a few pitchers (combined with the guys we have), I see depth in the OF, a potential 1B or two, and depth at catcher. What is our farm system really missing? A 3B? Bullpen?
Since when does 1B only mean anything (especially to an American League team).
1B only in the minors is code for fat and slow.Since when does 1B only mean anything (especially to an American League team).
Well he would have been a top prospect, if only he could play LF as well as 1B.

Just a quick summary, farm-wise, of what we have from an admittedly uninformed standpoint:
C: Francisco Mejia (Who can provide info on this kid? I honestly don't know if he has the potential to take over for Gomes)
1B: Mike Papi, Bobby Bradley, Nellie Rodriguez. Bradley's power obviously jumps out at you, but none of these guys really jump out to me as top-level, above-average MLB starters at this time. I'd love to trade the potential of someone like Bradley for some MLB talent if someone would bite.
Middle Infield: Nothing I'm too fond of at the MLB level. EGon is the closest. Mathias and Krieger were drafted this year and I know nothing about them. With Kip/Lindor here, I'm not concerned.
3B: Yandy Diaz has been getting a ton of love. He's apparently a disciplined hitter, but lacking pop, and his glovework is top notch.
OF: Zimmer and Frazier are our RF and CF of the future. Zimmer's time should be within two years--Frazier is a bit more of a wild card and project at this point. Naquin could be a fourth OF.
P: Aiken, Kaminsky, Justus Sheffield, McKenzie, Hillman and Clevinger all look to have MLB potential. I like our young arms.

Mejia: best arm in the system....MLB included...has performed very well considering at every stop he has been one of the youngest guys in his respective league...switch hitter who has showed some HR pop this year that wasn't there in the past, but has come at the cost of his slash line, most notably his BA and OBP...made a few top 100 prospect lists before the start of this season
Papi: not a 1B anymore, exclusively playing in RF, where he leads the entire system in OF assists...power hasn't come yet, but he hits a lot of doubles (good sign for a corner OFer) and gets on base...if/when the power comes that was expected when he was drafted, he'll make some more noise for the farm
Diaz: pop has shown up this year more so...part of the reason he has been hyped up in here in the 1st place...still needs to come more, but he will be the every day starter at 3B for Columbus next year
Mejia is a better defensive catcher than both a healthy Gomes and Roberto Perez? Color me impressed!
