I don't know if he'll ever hit enough, but Lonnie Chisenhall can play RF at a very high level.
The platoon of Chisenhall and Raburn is coming for 2016. Be ready for it.
Upton, for the right price, would be a fine addition.
Unfortunately he's 28 and in the weakest free agent class I've seen in a while.
He'll get over $100M, and it won't be pretty.
If he gets into the 4/70 range, you'd have my attention.
And you laughed at the idea of him at 1B.
He has jumped up some 50 points since he's been up from the minors. He will continue to improve and I hope to see him out there the majority of the time. Let him get his ABs against lefties.
I honestly hope they trade Santana. Both he and the team need a fresh start. i think 2017 is the year the team may make a huge jump. Bradley Zimmer and Frazier along with more development from Lindor and Salazar and hopefully Bauer. How realistic is it to expect Frazier and Bradley to ready in 17?Would much rather go out and pay Justin Upton and hope he can return to his .280 average or so, he has 20 dingers out in San Diego which is a hard task there.
Could be the guy we need, could be the guy that makes our current players see better pitches, could be a guy primed for a big season with Kip, Frankie, Smooth coming before him. Just turned 28 yesterday.
Upton just seems like a better fit than Braun.
2B Kip
SS Frankie
LF Brantley
RF J UP
1B Santana
DH Chiz/Raburn
C Gomes
CF Almonte
3B Gio/Johnson
Either way, adding a big bat makes this lineup look so much damn better, then if they add a good starting pitcher, which I doubt, but we could be talking advancing in the playoffs, instead of just making them.

Wasn't Upton supposed to be the next Ken Griffey Jr. coming out of high school? Any reason in particular why he's been a minor disappointment despite his considerable skill?

Pretty unrealistic.
Not sure why Santana has become the whipping boy on this team, or why trading what little power they do have in the lineup is somehow a good idea.
I understand this is a down year for him, but selling low isn't exactly the brightest idea.
Don't think it's a strong FA class for OFers? Heyward, Upton, Cespedes, Gordon all gonna be on the market. And it sounds like Puig could be available in trade plus all the Ozuna rumors. Wondering if the glut of available OFs makes one come cheap.
Because for some reason, batting average is being used to determine who is good or not in here way too often...its 1985, b00bie, 1985
