Yeah so I don’t think this is going to be a popular take, but I’ve thought a lot about this myself during these discussions of do whatever it takes to keep LindorThe fans would turn on Lindor in a second if he went six months in a string like Jose Ramirez and every positive goodwill earned from resigning him would disappear.
It’s not a strong investment, especially when looking at shortstop contracts around the league. If he’s really asking for that north or $250m then it’s simply not tenable.
I think it’s a legitimate point that with how this team operates even if Lindor is a perennial all star, taking up 20-25% of the team’s budget with one player may not be the best way for a small market team like the Indians to go
