2019 Cleveland Browns Regular Season

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think you might be reading too much into the stats. Those numbers speak more about the Jets, Titans, Panthers and Saints than they do about the Rams/Browns game this weekend.
Haha no I’m not reading into them I was just joking. Personally I believe, either way they are looked at it, that they don’t mean too much after 2 games.

That'll pretty much wrap Kirksey's career as a Brown.

Good dude.

Best of luck to him.
Is he gonna get a starting job anywhere else? He might take less and come back as a backup/ST player next year.

It wouldn’t stun me if both sides try to renegotiate... I would be stunned if he’s a Browns next year, though.
He's certainly not coming back at his current cap number. That wasn't going to happen even healthy. But if he's willing to accept a backup contract, I don't know why we wouldn't want him.

Pectoral tear is a tough one. After he is cut, I would even say there is a 10% chance he just retires, who knows.

He is a class act, good leader, and decent LB, but i doubt he comes back. I think a team will see his past work and numbers and sign him for more than we are willing to pay if I had to take a guess.

Kirksey is a really good linebacker, especially for a defense that needs defense past the LOS and safeties. Somebody is going to give him a nice deal.

Browns can pay him like a low-tier starting linebacker over a long duration... that may be attractive, especially if he wants to stay in Cleveland. I just think it’s unlikely he doesn’t take his best offer, but we’ll see.

So remind me again why they held the starters out of preseason? To reduce the injuries? All it did was ensure the team was unprepared.

Precisely.

There is zero reason week 1 to come out and say, "These guys are knicked up in x, y, & z parts of their body due to contact in practices." Those injuries would be targeted for exploitation in the opposing gameplay.
That’s what happens when your bell cow back is averaging 3.4 ypc. You get into a lot of 2nd and long and then 3rd and long.

However the Titans game is severely skewing that statistic
That's what happens when you have a motion or holding on 1st down too.

Denzel was never healthy. Browns should have let him recover.

Whether or not they should have held him out, his injury history is becoming more and more concerning. Though I’m not exactly keen on giving up picks for a guy like Ramsey at this point, this is the main reason why I wouldn’t necessarily be upset with it. As good as Ward is on the field, it’s clear his durability is likely to be an ongoing concern moving forward.

Hopefully this will resolve itself, but if I’m not mistaken didn’t he have some injury issues at OSU?
