2019 College Football Season/Playoff Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Michigan is just running them over. This is unbelievable

Notre Dame looks like absolute dogshit. Wow.

SMU will be right on the edge of the top 10 this week.

They beat TCU while they were ranked 25 and beat Temple while they were 25. They’ve beaten up on a bunch of garbo aside from that, but they’ve put up a shitload of points doing it.

They play Memphis, Navy and Tulane still. Memphis will be ranked this week, Navy might be when they play and Tulane will be if they win three more times. ECU is mixed in.

Guess we’ll find out if they’re legit. They could theoretically drop all three of those games.

So, does OU going down open the door for Oregon a little bit if they win out and win the PAC-12? I’m with others when they say a one-loss SEC conf loser still gets the nod, but objectively Oregon should at least seriously considered.

That PSU-Minnesota game is low key yuge; if Minnesota can somehow pull that off, they can lose to Wiscy and still get into the title game over them.

I was curious to who holds the NCAA record for most sacks in a season and what the amount was. Elvis Dumervil had 20 in 2005 to lead Louisville. Chase Young has tied Vernon Gholston and Joey Bosa with 14 to tie the Ohio State record for most in a season. Dumervil’s record is definitely within reach.

Gophers get to host Wisconsin this year.
How about 2 undefeated teams meeting in the B10 championship in Indy?? Minnesota & Ohio State.

Nah, I think it's a certainty at this point we get two SEC teams. I don't see any way Oregon makes it over a 1 loss Bama, LSU, or Georgia.

I think a one loss Bama, LSU, or UGA is demonstrably better than a one loss Oregon, and that’s before you take the SEC bias into account.

Oregon’s (and the PAC-12’s) only route to the playoffs this year was to go undefeated, and even if they had, I could still see people trying to make the case for a one loss SEC team to make it over an undefeated PAC-12 team. (Not necessarily that I agree, of course.)

I know, it just kind of....sucks. I’d like to whine about it for a couple more minutes.
