2019 College Football Season/Playoff Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Well I look dumb but hell yeah #1! I hope we keep it for the sake of not playing Clemson AND LSU to try to win it.

Won't be hard for the committee to justify bumping us down though. Even comparable conference championship performances could make LSU jump us, but hopefully that's not the case.

Sure. if LSU blows out GEorgia by 40+ and we win by like 7 or something, absolutely could happen.

I think the more important thing about getting that #1 ranking this week is that there will now be justification for OSU to make the playoff if, gulp, by some HORRIBLE chance, they lose a close game to TTUN on Saturday, but then destroys whichever team they play in the Big10 Championship game.

OSU was always getting in with a loss to Michigan and a win in the B1G CG.

Alright well

Utah really does have a shot then. I take issue with Alabama being in the top-5, but they’ll be knocked out of say ... 8 IF — and big if — Minnesota and Utah take care of business right?

Still don’t understand why UGA gets a pass for the scar loss at home.

Would not need to be that extreme IMO, but it's not as if the committee's decisions always make sense anyway.

Let's keep #1 and let the other undefeateds fight it out.

Called it. Once I looked at the SEC schedules I started to realize how overrated they are.
Ohio st. has played at a consistently high level all year long.
We deserve #1.

We need Utah to win out and get that #4 spot.

How funny would it be if this were to happen:

Ohio State wins out.
Clemson wins out.
LSU loses to A&M.
UGA loses to Tech.
Bama loses to Auburn.
Utah wins out.
Oklahoma wins out.
LSU loses to UGA next weekend.

That would result in:

1. Ohio State
2. Clemson
3. Utah
4. Oklahoma

0 SEC teams in the CFB Playoff.

:toast:

Of course A&M beats LSU.
They are powerhouse.

In that scenario

1. Texas Am
2. OSU
3. Clemson
4. Vacant; Texas Am gets a bye to the title game

Call me crazy but I think Id rather play Bama and their backup.

The worst case scenario, assuming OSU wins out, would be Georgia beating LSU. LSU would most likely stay in and be 4th.

Would much prefer to play Bama or Utah in that scenario.
