Look who you're talking to. Rich masturbates to negativity. He doesn't really have any credibility as an actual basketball observer, he's just looking to be as negative as possible about every situation. I would put him on ignore, but it's comedy most of the time.
I don't agree with a lot of @Rich takes and he (sorry that I'm talking as if you're not in the thread) can get hung up on semantics, but I don't think it's fair to say he mastubrates to negativity.

1. He posted several positive/realistic observations on the team and players AFTER the game Wednesday

2. I may be a more positive /bright side poster, but that's just me. What has the team done post LeBron 1.0 and 2.0 to merit free passes and lack of skepticism. We may be headed for better days, but until those actually happen, the results speak for themselves.

3. Sometimes, because we all dig in so much on certain players, as posters we find ourselves starting to argue more against the takes on these players that other posters make than argue 100% unbiased and observationally neutral on the player themselves.

So personally, and it's not based on any likeness in poster name, I think it's a little rough/unfair to both he only posts negative just for the sake of it or that he has no basketball observation credibility, as the VAST majority of us(myself included) are not guys with playing experience beyond rec leagues or HS and without any real basketball expertise beyond what we've watched over the course of our fandom.

This was my biggest gripe with the Nance trade, we don’t have that vocal leader anymore. Hopefully somebody (Rubio?) can fill that role, but for a young team like these cavs we need a vocal vet like Vince Carter, Haslem, PJ Tucker, Draymond
We don't need anyone like Draymond. He's a garbage human. Someone like Haslem, Tucker or Carter would be great. Maybe Rubio can be that guy?

someone I know said he will easily slide into that "Charles Barkley" scorching-takes on TV mode once he retires.

You're right about the lacking vet presence. Even Larry was kind of a younger guy. We're not getting that from Kevin Love (lol).
This team is young and some positions (SF) that need a vet being the vanguard are missing. That's why I liked JaVale McGee over here even though I know he was only going to be here for a short while.

I don't literally think he masturbates to negativity, I was joking, but it certainly did fall on the overly mean side of things.

He did post in the Okoro thread that his upside is an end of the bench rotation player, which is a quote that I'm saving and will be adding to my signature in a few years. There's just no way to know that at this point, which is how you can tell he's being negative just for the sake of being negative.

I was one of the biggest Okoro pimps last year and recognize how early it is, but unless/until he develops reliable spot up jump shot, that upside assessment is looking very possible/plausible and to me doesn't qualify as a hot take/ridiculous thing to say, regardless of whether it bears out to be true or not.

It's a completely unnecessary take at this point, specifically because of how early it is. Do you get a prize for being the most negative the quickest (about your own "team", mind you)? Should we go back and find some of his Sexton takes after his first year? The whole point about credibility is that when you always go straight to the same point of view every single time, you don't have any.

“Garbage human” is a ridiculous insult. Save that for truly evil people like mass murderers. Utterly inappropriate for a player who really shouldn’t be kicking people in the nuts but is hardly “garbage”. Human beings are not disposable.

I’d love to have Draymond on this team. Start him at the 3 and we’d be a lot better immediately.

I wouldn't want him on my team. He's a loud mouth that brings unwanted criticism to his team, and gets in fights with players that are significantly better than he is. He also has driven star players away from his team.

I also don't think you were reading into my sarcasm and may have been taking my comment a little too seriously. Let's all remember how much of a jerk he was in the media during our finals runs as well.

He‘s definitely a jerk - in a sports context. As a teammate I’d be pissed he missed Game 5 in 2016. Not sure what star players he’s driven away except for Durant (and I’m not aware Draymond is why he left). Glad we beat his ass, but he competed like a mofo in Game 7 and I respect that.

In a sports context he’s an asshole but I’d rather he’d be our asshole than their asshole. I give a lot of slack to players that ball out and he definitely qualifies.

Guys who don’t give a shit get no slack.

Or to put it another way - give me Draymond and you can keep Simmons.

I wasn’t sure if your comment was in a sports context so thanks for the clarification.

Totally in a sports context. In Draymond's defense, he's pretty involved in his community in the Bay Area and has contributed to charity and good causes in a number of ways.
