I was overall happy with Garland's performance. The long-ball looked good. Needs to shoot them in high volume. Shoot it like you're Steph Curry out there Darius!

His playmaking looked good. His defense looked "below average" which is actually pretty good considering how many "absolute abominations" we have on the roster on that end.

Orlando is full long, athletic, good defenders. Really really good protection around the basket.

Garland was obviously taking it slow, trying to feel out the speed/flow of the game. He plays very deliberately, which I like a lot. As he gets a longer leash, gets more comfortable, in better shape, get sadjusted to NBA speed and spacing. Also, Jordan Clarkson continues to be a hinderace to our young guards development every second hes on the floor.

He almost plays at Kyrie speed I noticed. Not similar games, just the speed at which the play, under control, they are both quick because they are good at adjusting their speeds.

I can confidently say that Garland was quicker than Kyrie when he was in shape.

I am not sure about that, either way Kyrie is better going to the hole, Kyrie was elite that way, but Garland is a far better passer now than Kyrie ever has been. Better defender too, which isn't saying much because Garland has allot of room to improve on defense, but it seems he will, I like the kid allot.

Agreed. He has a great change of pace game. Really puts defenders on their heels. Once he develops a consistent floater so hes a bigger threat in the 6-14 foot range...but yeah I really like his skill set. He belongs in this league.

Really liked what I saw. He is a bit tentative right now, which isn't weird for a first game. He and Sexton need to figure out their roles still. I liked what saw, and while it was trouble defensively, it looks like it might work.

Spacing from Love would have made everyone's job a lot easier last night, but nothing came of it. Orlando was able to crowd the team a lot. If Cedi and Love had hit those 3's early on, I think the team would have won that game. Pretty impressed by Garland. For a guy who had like one week of practice, he is doing really well.

They should give him the keys to the car, like how Atlanta gave them to Trae. Now, I'm not talking about pulling up from half-court, but Garland and sexton should be our 2a and 2b after love. Maybe even our 1a 1b over love

Garland should always run the offense. Dude made some slick passes against the Magic. Sexton is a pure scorer. When Sexton gets the ball he wants 1 thing a bucket. Garland seems to want to get everyone involved. As for KLove I'm not sure he wants the role of top dog anymore. Dude only took 10 shots against the Magic.

This is good, but he also has to be more aggressive, I want this dude to be a star lol

I didn't say I don't want him to be more aggressive. I said he should always have the ball and find balance between scoring and getting teammates involved. He clearly has a feel for scoring. He will learn on a the fly hopefully.

He only had 8 points in his debut and shot 3 of 9 but I remember 3 or 4 of his misses went in and out. Collin might be the guy who stunts his growth because Sexton was running the team early and he has tunnel vision. We should trade Clarkson as soon as we can and start Garland - Osman - Windler (When he's back) - KLove - Thompson. And have Sexton play the Lou Williams light it up off the bench role. Cause if they continue to start together its going to hurt them both.

Agree with this

af watching the Hawks last night I thought Garland could easily be as good as Young. He just needs to let it go and takeover.
