You can play anyone ranging from the aforementioned Weeden to Alex Smith under center.

The 1984-2003 Steelers come to mind in that realm. Same with the Ravens to a certain extent.

We were not one of those teams (Well we "were" one, fuck Modell). We don't need to rehash the past, but man..

Not in this era. MVP caliber QBs are winning Super Bowls.

I know some are going to bring up Flacco, Eli, etc... But the league has even changed a lot since when those two won.

Going forward, its going to be very hard to win a Super Bowl, if you don't have a pro bowl level QB.

Initially, and I'm sure it was just a negotiative leak, the rumor was that it was only going to be Sammy Watkins-level money.

Not "winning" Super Bowl, but they'll be on the doorstep. That's kinda how that goes. NFL playoff purgartory. (Not NFL purgatory which would be a Jeff Fisher team)

Kinda why ravens fan jawing about Lamar for example was a tad annoying. I don't believe he's bad, but they really don't want to acknowledge that he was put on a good team with a good d. and a very steady front office.

I think the Bears are actually historically similar. The only good QB I can really think of with them was McMahon. They've had a few "tweeners" (Harbaugh, Orton, Cutler) but man..that list is bleak. (runningback and linebacker is a different conversation)

We have reports that he went after Mayock, but has AB, Mayock or Gruden actually confirmed this? Has anyone that was there confirmed it?
We are talking about media members who were not present at the time.
It does seem odd that something like this would happen and he wouldn’t get fined/suspended/cut. Something isn’t adding up and it feels like this was majorly overblown.

With most teams, I'd agree. But its the Raiders.

You never know how this could all turn out.
But.
With all due respect? the trubisky selection would have probably somehow put us in even worse position and more far behind had we gone with him.

He would have been rushed in to save Hue's job and we'd be debating which QB to select next year at the very least.

Meanwhile? We'd probably be seeing memes about Myles Garrett dominating for the 49ers and Baker is likely backing up GOAT in New England.

Can an NFL team mandate a player can to get mental health treatment or mandate treatment in general?

AB won't seek it out on his own and is clearly having a mental breakdown. The erratic behavior, disconnection with reality, and lack of control of his emotions are giant red flags that this goes deeper than just being a dick.

Address the problem head-on, because AB's well-being is more important than our entertainment and the Raiders winning 5 games
