2019 Series #41 | Indians @ Mets | August 20th, 21st, and 22nd

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Well, according to baseball reference, we're 3-3 against the Red Sox, 3-4 against Houston, 4-3 against the Yankees, and 7-6 against the Twins. So it seems to me that they'd all rather play KC in October as well.

I mean over the last few losses, a hit here and and one less mistake here and this road trip would have been in our favor. It happens sometimes but its not like we haven't been in these games. We have been in just about every loss, and most of the losses of late, we could have easily won. All teams go through the bad times, its how they pick themselves back up that makes or breaks them. I think they will with all the guys they have on this team and the experience they have. Though getting Kluber back would have been a nice addition to get some energy back in the ball club.

Losses can be really depressing, but recall when we were 11 games out and lots of fans and media types were pretty much ready to roll up the sidewalks. I was too, to be honest. But then guys started playing better....

Getting swept by the Mets sucked. But it doesn't mean the end of the season, and it doesn't mean that we won't be a better team 4 weeks from now.

Still think they make the postseason regardless, but would be ideal for them to win the division instead of the wild card... think I would rather see the Yankees in the ALDS instead of the Astros.

Still six games left against the Twins, who I think are scared of the Indians after that last series. Unfortunately they’re playing through the gauntlet of the White Sox and Tigers for the next twelve games. Funny how the schedule makers have absolutely boned the Indians for this year and next...

They play the same teams the same amount of times. The Indians fielding a jv team the first half of the year is the problem.

I don’t disagree, but it’s rather inconvenient that in the late stages of a playoff race, one team is playing the MonStars while the other team is playing Mega Weenie Hut Jr.

I mean, that’s pure coincidence though, not some insidious ploy to “bone” the Indians.

Yeah it sucks for sure. It's one risk you run as an organization when your strategy relies on adding quality talent at the end of July.

If you recall though, one of the main reasons the Indians got back into after being 11 down was because they were playing an extremely easy schedule while the Twins were playing plus 500 teams.

Not disputing that at all. There’s plenty of factors that went into that slow start - injuries to Kluber/Cookie/Lindor, Jose’s prolonged slump, the Twins somehow being the hottest team in baseball, to name a few.

Just sucks, but you can only play who you can play.
