Larry Nance Jr. for Gary Harris and three unprotected picks!!!!!!!!!!
But for real though...if they came and offered MPJ for Larry Nance Jr...
I think I just came up with a pretty sweet ass trade.
A healthy Nance leading the league in steals next to Jokic? Are they close to favorites with the way the Clippers and Lakers look?
This is all conjecture. as I've watched them a bit but I don't know the way Connelly and Booth think or what their plans are for taking the next step from WCF to true finals contender. I know Connelly turned down his "dream" job back home with Washington and many have said he'll probably eventually take it once this current core has peaked, but by all accounts I think Denver is primed for contention for the next 5 years with some tweaking.
From everything I've seen, I think Denver is approaching MPJ as the important 3rd wheel/untouchable after Jokic and Murray to that core
I bet the real challenge for them is trying to find the "right" 2 defenders to put with those 3 guys so they can move Barton back to his 6th man role
Larry would be perfect for them in that Jerami Grant role as a 4th starter who is a very smart and growing offensive talent but I don't see anything else on the roster I would consider trading him for outside of MPJ. And once you help them solve their rotation/defensive compliment puzzle, that trio is all 25 and under and they just locked up Malone for like another few years so... those firsts are going to be outside the lottery for the next 5 years at least.
Harris hasnt been close to the same guy since he got paid. I think I heard from the Denver beat writer on NBA radio earlier in the year that Harris has played some absurd 25-30% of games since he got paid 2 years ago with this and next year remaining. Something ridiculous, like Larry Hughes or Love since his last payday. So I can't give them Larry for him and late firsts
Denver is a tough match for me to find a wish-list that would justify giving up Larry.
Rich, I truly value what he brings in the lockerroom and how he's tethered himself to optimizing Sexton. He speaks him up everytime he's on a mic like last night on the broadcast or everytime he's on twitter and LNJ get's that part of veteran leadership more than anyone else we have on the roster at the moment.
Selfishly, I'm not trading Larry unless we CLEARLY win on the trade similar to Exum for Allen.
