538 released a neat little tool that'll let you change up NBA rosters/roles and get statistical projections for the remainder of the year.

Combine that with the trade machine to ensure the moves are legal, and you can run through some pretty interesting scenarios.

I increased our playoff chances more than 4x with one move.

Jimmy Butler is just insanely underrated.

I've done such a 180 on him.

I've said this line before, but his impact on winning and losing is almost second to none.

The Heat this year w/o Butler, 4-10.

With Butler, 13-8 (and probably 14-8 soon).

THat's not a terribly talented team around him. Bam is good. The rest need him to look good.

Otto Porter, Thad Young, Aminu rotting away in Orlando, PJ Tucker

You plug any of those available guys into Denver between Jokic and MPJ and tell them just play defense and dont disrupt our offense, and Denver is a contender again

Larry Nance Jr. for Gary Harris and three unprotected picks!!!!!!!!!!

But for real though...if they came and offered MPJ for Larry Nance Jr...

I think I just came up with a pretty sweet ass trade.

A healthy Nance leading the league in steals next to Jokic? Are they close to favorites with the way the Clippers and Lakers look?

This is all conjecture. as I've watched them a bit but I don't know the way Connelly and Booth think or what their plans are for taking the next step from WCF to true finals contender. I know Connelly turned down his "dream" job back home with Washington and many have said he'll probably eventually take it once this current core has peaked, but by all accounts I think Denver is primed for contention for the next 5 years with some tweaking.

From everything I've seen, I think Denver is approaching MPJ as the important 3rd wheel/untouchable after Jokic and Murray to that core

I bet the real challenge for them is trying to find the "right" 2 defenders to put with those 3 guys so they can move Barton back to his 6th man role

Larry would be perfect for them in that Jerami Grant role as a 4th starter who is a very smart and growing offensive talent but I don't see anything else on the roster I would consider trading him for outside of MPJ. And once you help them solve their rotation/defensive compliment puzzle, that trio is all 25 and under and they just locked up Malone for like another few years so... those firsts are going to be outside the lottery for the next 5 years at least.

Harris hasnt been close to the same guy since he got paid. I think I heard from the Denver beat writer on NBA radio earlier in the year that Harris has played some absurd 25-30% of games since he got paid 2 years ago with this and next year remaining. Something ridiculous, like Larry Hughes or Love since his last payday. So I can't give them Larry for him and late firsts

Denver is a tough match for me to find a wish-list that would justify giving up Larry.

Rich, I truly value what he brings in the lockerroom and how he's tethered himself to optimizing Sexton. He speaks him up everytime he's on a mic like last night on the broadcast or everytime he's on twitter and LNJ get's that part of veteran leadership more than anyone else we have on the roster at the moment.

Selfishly, I'm not trading Larry unless we CLEARLY win on the trade similar to Exum for Allen.

Lol at the NBA coaches rallying around Lloyd Pierce.

Maybe Pierce will be a good coach but he is flat out underachieving with the roster given him.

Maybe the roster is mismatched and whatnot, but he's lost twice as many games as he's won. And they aren't spending money to miss the playoffs again.

I would say Lloyd Pierce is the Paul Pierce of coaches

I saw Pierce doing commentary with Nichols and RJ a few days ago, after not seeing him for a few weeks and I couldnt escape this feeling that I just wanted to punch Paul Pierce in the face.

I wonder if Celtic fans feel the same way now that he cant do anything for them on the court.

He's a punchable face with a punchable personality.

Its really rough for me, because they pair him with RJ so often who i cant get enough of commentary wise, then fucking Pierce comes on and ruins it.

I just want Jefferson to turn to Pierce one time and look him straight in the eyes and say "Would you fucking shut the fuck up already Paul"....it would probably make my entire month, lol.

Meyers Leonard...oof, man.

Anti-Semitic slurs are so passé.

I mean really, in this day and age?

If one is a professional athlete, one must assume everything one says will get out eventually. So don't say anything remotely harmful.

Or Meyers Leonard grew up playing Modern Warfare 2 and reverted back to being an idiot mouthy teen online.

This is why streaming yourself playing games is stupid.
