2020 Buckeyes Recruitment Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Any scuttlebutt on transfers...either to OSU, or outbound, or is it too early yet?
Brendon White.

He was the Rose Bowl MVP last year for us, but he lost his spot in the DB rotation this year (he's had a rough year with his dad battling ALS, and it's rumored that he's looked out of sorts in practice... probably a result of dealing with the family issues).

He technically hasn't entered the transfer portal yet, but it's a virtual lock that he will.

I have a feeling that Phillips will be switching to Utah. I think we'll keep Martinez.
About 2 hours ago Phillips removed all of the Ohio State posts from his Instagram account. Not exactly a good sign.

Not sure what source you're looking at. 24-7 Sports has Stroud ranked as the #6 rated QB (and #2 pro style QB) in the 2020 class. He's rated well above both Michael Alaimo (Purdue) and Aidan Atkinson (Northwestern).
He was using ESPN rankings lololol.

absolutely hate to lose Phillips if that’s the route it goes

Stroud took off late, so he’s going to be behind in rankings that don’t seek to update and keep tabs on kids with regularity.

The biggest thing he has going in his favor is Quincy Avery, the QB coach who also groomed Justin Fields, Haskins and Deshaun Watson.

Got paired up with him, and immediately started playing like a Top 100 guy and earning major offers.

Stud. Excited to see him compete with Jack Miller.

Are these pure drop back/pocket guys or dual pass/run threats?

I feel like there is a fine line between JT mobility and Haskins mobility or am I wrong

Not wrong, JT had an innate ability to pick up yards when he needed them.

Haskins really didn’t, but both of these guys would trend more toward the JT Barrett/Joe Burrow type of athleticism

ESPN. It's the first thing that pops up in Google and I don't really keep up with this stuff.

All signs pointing to Utah for Phillips today. Tough loss. He is a top 50 player overall nationally and was set to enroll early. OSU is going to need some of their young DBs to really step up next season. Lots of Fr's and So's in the two-deep.
