I guess I take issue with university leadership completely ignoring the possibility that young adults would advocate for their safety in a public juncture and still seemingly didn’t really plan for the possibility of it. I understand that’s “omg hindsight 20/20!” But still, no one said “hey, what do we do if these student-athletes aren’t nonchalant about jeopardizing their safety?”As soon as the players started.making additional demands, the schools had no choice. They were being set up as the fall guys when - not if - the virus started spreading among students and players.

I mean say that was discussed; it kind of seems like it was just “uhh let’s cross that bridge when we get there.”
