2020 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Cephus also a dude.

Throw him on the pile for 2020 WRs

@Randolphkeys and whoever else wants to chip in.

Sorry I haven't been hanging out in here and honestly I am not going to go through all of the posts to check

What is the OT looking like for the draft? That to me is our biggest need before anything else.

I mean, it's in the thread but...whatever.

It's extremely strong.

I haven’t been keeping up with the thread of late so I am not going through everything just to figure it out right now... lol

Who are the OTs we could target?

Thomas of Georgia and Whirfs of Iowa are the upper crust, IMO. Thomas has been my clear #1 since preseason, and while I haven't watched as much college football as others, the talent is there and I haven't heard about a "bad game" I missed. Wirfs is going to be very good on the right side. Will he be able to hold down tackle or get kicked to guard is the big question which keeps him comfortably at #2. Here's the thing: I believe the difference between right tackle and left tackle have basically been erased for prospects. So, I kind of believe Wirfs is closer to Thomas than most.

My favorite value offensive lineman is the same as AZ's: Throckmorton from Oregon. He doesn't have bad games. Other guys can be inconsistent, like the Alabama tackles.

That's where I'm at right now, I have a lot of film to watch through the spring.

Agreed on Wirfs. He's also the meanest motherfucker on the planet, a real mauler on a run blocker. If he tests out well, I'd have Thomas and Wirfs neck and neck going into the draft.

If they went Wirfs with the 1st pick, I'd look at/consider Prince Tega Wanogho in the 2nd. Raw technique but my god what a specimen of an athlete.

Bit of a surprise, but he has the chance to be a Top 15 pick next season.

Jesus. Early word seems to be that Tagovailoa is coming back too. They’re going to be loaded again.

4 to Watch, Browns 10th Overall Pick:

1. Isaiah Simmons - LB/S - Clemson

Sold. This is a freak athlete who, in the age of 5 DB, Simmons' combination of athleticism and dynamic traits make him one of the most unique defensive talents I've seen in a while. I think he's Sean Taylor, but will wait to see his total athletic profile this off-season.

Whether he's a hybrid slot player, a free safety, a linebacker, he's one of the most explosive defenders in the draft and presents an athletic mismatch that defenses can utilize to their advantage.

2. Andrew Thomas - OT - Georgia

I've spoken about Thomas at length already, but I think he's the best T in this class and I don't think its all that close.

The combo of length and power overshadows any concerns about footwork, which is still good in its own right. Elite punch and anchor skills set him apart, he's a mean dude and just moves earth in the run game. If he's still there at #10, you count your blessings and count on him for the next 10+ years.

3. Grant Delpit - S - LSU

Tough 2019 for him, battled through injury and didn't look like the player he was before. When healthy, he has the best range of any safety in the draft since Malik Hooker. Tackling is a bit of a concern, but hadn't really shown up too much prior to this year, so it could be injury related.

4. AJ Epenesa - DE - Iowa

Long, powerful EDGE player who many project fits better into a 3T player or inside in a 4-3 alignment. I think he can absolutely play EDGE in any scheme, his power and flexibility for a guy that is 6'6 and 280 pounds are rare.

Put Austin Jackson in a trash bin during the bowl game, and I love Jackson as a prospect.

At this point, I'm most intrigued by these guys most heading into the off-season. Can't wait to see their athletic profiles to see whether or not it matches up with the tape.

I would move heaven and earth to go get Andrew Thomas. Having an anchor LT for 5 years on the cheap (with this team). Would got a long way with keeping the core together as best as possible. If Tua doesnt come out, that leaves only Herbert on the board for Miami & LAC to fight over.

The way I see it Burrow, Young, Jeudy, Okudah, Tua & Herbert could all go before him depending on if Tua or Herbert come out.

Cincy- Burrow is a 100% lock
Washington- Young 100% lock for Ron Rivera
Detroit- Jeudy or Okudah [May need to get up here if we want to grab Thomas]
Giants- Thomas, but I could see them having a hard time passing on Jeudy
Dolphins- Tua or Herbert
Chargers- Too many other holes to worry about LT
Panthers- Derrick Brown
Cardinals- Will take best T available

Based on the small mock above, we can jump to Detroit by giving up next years 1st and a late pick (based on the trade value chart). It sounds like a lot, but Detroit is just the team to pull a trade like this. They were 6 points away from starting 5-0 & a ton of other games separated by 7 points or less. You have to get in front of Detroit to guarantee Thomas. if for some reason he drops, you can get to the Chargers for a lesser cost and snag him, but I think its unlikely he drops past the Giants.

Or we could stay put and draft Simmons. That's a win.

Also an option, but its hard for me to ignore taking a LT with 10 year potential. I feel like solid DBs can be had in rd 2 or 3.

hell then why not go get Isiah Wilson in Rd 2 & have both Georgia boys starting at tackle for us.

There's a bigger dropoff from Simmons,Delpit/The Field than Thomas/The Field.
