2020 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Wentz you can argue.

Watson and Mahomes are obviously stud QB's now, but it's hard to argue they were better prospects at this point.

You can certainly argue it.

It’s all a matter of personal preference. I don’t like Tua as a prospect. I really liked both Wentz and Mahomes as prospects, much more than Tua.

Sorry that’s how this works.

Watson was absolutely on the same level as Tua. QB Evals have come a long way since even Watson was drafted, in large part because of the success of Watson.

Tua isn't that good. He's a game manager, a guy who will make decent decisions and be good at ball control, but his down field passing is not that great.

That's fair.

I'm referring to how Watson was graded at the time versus how Tua is graded now. I feel gross defending Tua because I don't like him as a prospect, but he's pretty widely rated higher now than Deshaun Watson or Pat Mahomes were a few years back.

Oh definitely Tua is higher regarded because Watson got dinged HEAVILY because of the radar gun thing.

He shouldn't be, because Watson was much better than Tua was in college and has a better skill set with the same injury history.

Disagree here, Tua was pretty damn accurate in down field passing. However, I think it's fair to have questions of his arm strength

The hip is obviously a giant red flag that could affect his ability to stay on the field and his on field ability. From what I've seen, his arm strength is mediocre for NFL standards but his down field touch is pretty spot on. I think the super strong supporting cast on offense is a valid concern too. He never looked great in the rare times that his line allowed pressure and his mechanics went to mush. That escapability he previously showed is only to get worse with better athletes and his hip. His supporting cast was not too dissimilar from Baker's in his senior year though.

The only reason Baker Mayfield wasnt labeled as a "cant't miss" prospect at #1 was because of his height. To say Tua is on his level is laughable.

.
Winston, Goff, Baker and Murray were all much better QB prospects since Tua.

most had Darnold in front of Baker in the draft. Winston mental/social skills made him a big time risk. I can see the argument on Goff but its close. Murray wasn't thought of as top pick until the final month before the draft.

Wentz, Watson and Mahomes as well.....

that's why Watson and Mahomes fell so far because everyone thought they were the next big thing since Luck. everyone had them going #1 in the draft the year before.

Sarcasm

Tua has been projected as the #1 pick for 2 years and with a major injury is still going to go before them.

Yeah well I think he’s going to be a major fucking bust.

This is from walterfootball.com mock draft in April after the 2019 draft and it didn't change until Nov 20 when Tua got hurt.

Miami Dolphins: Tua Tagovailoa, QB, Alabama

2019 NFL Mock Draft Pick (as of 4/24): Christian Wilkins, DT

The Dolphins have made it known that they are tanking. Miami is the worst team in my NFL Power Rankings, which is why it's atop the 2020 NFL Draft.

The hero of the national championship against Georgia, Tua Tagovailoa has a big arm and scrambling ability, and will undoubtedly draw comparisons to Russell Wilson.
