I don’t think people realize how simply the change in scheme and playcalling tendencies are/we’re going to benefit Baker, in terms of run heavy, two TE sets, shorter drops and ability to actually sell the playaction.

To add Conklin and Wills in addition to that? I’m ecstatic. The effects it will have on both Baker and the defense(via TOP and fewer TOs) is not to be discounted

I convinced myself that the Browns were going to fall in love with the athleticism and scheme familiarity of Wirfs, but here's what I said about Wills on April 7th and April 8th.

April 7: I know he's playing RT and the Browns need a LT, but after hours of repeatedly watching YouTube cuts, I am starting to think Jedrick Wills has the consistently best tape of the top five guys.

If Stefanski and Callahan are convinced he can make the transition over to the left side without much issue...

April 8: Wills is the intriguing one to me. Part of me thinks that if he had played LT at the same caliber that he played RT this past year, he'd be the no questions asked unanimous OT1 on all boards. I like his tape the best of the three. He looked, to my untrained eye, to have the most consistent fundamentals and technique. Obviously there's a huge level of unknown about his ability to transition to the left side that really isn't there for Wirfs and Thomas, so I don't know if that's a gamble the Browns are willing to take or not. If you draft him and he can't handle it, then you'd really be in a tough spot.

His technique is damn good and that should carry over well, helping to speed things up on moving over to the left side. He feels the most coachable - he apparently studies his ass off. I think I prefer that type of guy vs. one who might check all the boxes athletically and then some, but has displayed poor technique / more mental lapses in their career.

We've been down that road time and time again. It usually isn't pretty.

Yeah they pretty much snap-picked Wills when they were on the clock.
