And he has been a better hitter in his career and in this season than Naylor...and he has even hit RHers better than Naylor this year.

And he is a much defender.

Uhhhhhhhh he's hitting 111/294/296/590 against RHP this season in 27 AB. He's hitting 259/344/370/714 against LHP in the very same number of AB(27) which is hardly earth shattering. He absolutely needs to be in the lineup against LHSP as he's slashing 286/444/464/909 against them.........and he has been. Facing RHSP this season he has slashed 071/156/179/335. He's getting what he deserves.

And Luplow has not been "a better hitter in his career". Especially when you factor age.

As of this writing, the Tribe is up five on the 9th place team(s) with nine games to play.. It's safe to say, the playoffs are in the Tribe future in 2020.. The real concern / consideration is who would you want to see as the Wild Card round opponent?.

The top side of the bracket would be: 1 vs. 8: CWSox vs. Toronto & 4 vs. 5: Twins vs. Yankees.. winners playing in the ALDS..

The bottom of the bracket would be: 2 vs 7: Tampa vs. Cleveland & 3 vs. 6: A's vs Astros.. winners playing in the ALDS.

As the standings are now, the above would be the most advantageous to the Indians to start the 2020 post season for several reasons.. health and matchups favor a better result for the Indians as they would avoid the juggernaut offenses of the CWSox and Yankees & not have to play the Twins in Minn where the season series between these two teams has been less than spectacular.. It would also mean the Rays, A's & Stros would be seeing our pitching staff for the first time this year..

Thoughts?.

It's almost totally out of our control because it depends on how the 1-2 teams shake out and whether we finish 7 or 8. The key is to get Santana and Reyes swinging the bat well going into the playoffs. We're going to need those guys to hit in the 4-5 spots to have any chance to advance.

A side note from last night's game..

Cam Hill looked fabulous.. tight slider.. well located pitches just on and just off the dish.. Seems like he's wound a little tight for the pen, but, that can be addressed as he matures..
