Did any of you see that bullshit tip by nets assistant that cost the wizards the game Lmaoo this refs are starting to be shit all around

Think that was as much a schedule loss as any. In fact, I was sure we'd get the schedule L vs the Nets, but they found their mojo there. Hopefully we take it out on OKC in a way that makes old Sonics fans proud.
Yep, Cavs were playing their 8th game in 13 days with seven of those games on the road. They looked tired and the Bulls were determined to break their losing streak.

Cedi has made 5 of his last 32 three-point shots. Wow. 5-for-32. 15.6%. That's Andre Drummond territory. We needed Cedi last night and he was 0-for-4 from deep.

But now we get two days off and play OKC at home. The Thunder will be playing their third game in four days, all on the road, and the second night of a back-to-back. Should be an easy win.

Both teamrankings.com and powerrankingsguru.com agree (for once) on something - the Cavs have the second easiest remaining schedule in the NBA.

I am just proud of you guys for not having a meltdown over a road loss to the top team in the east although that team was hurt. Its very hard to win on the road and like everyone is saying 8th game in 13 days, all but 1 road game, we need some rest.

Pacers won yesterday and they stated they haven’t won on the road since Nov 22 or some shit like that lol I’m proud of my Cavs

This games shows that we would get swept in the first round against the higher tier East teams like Bucks, Nets, Heat, and Bulls. We need more talent.

We have it. Sexton and Rubio are hurt.

Much as I hate to think about it. It's true. We are missing a good deal of talent on the roster.

Question is, how much do you give up to get more talent this year? Do you just accept that no matter what you do, you aren't getting past the second round TOPS, so be patient and make moves in the offseason when better deals may be available. Or do you go all in, trade your draft pick, etc to get a wing now?

Make moves at the margins, get Sexton back and make another run at a top seed next year. Be ready to go all in when the perfect trade comes up.

I just don't want them making a Porzingus type of trade that gets Mobley's eyes wandering by the end of his rookie deal

Use the MLE this summer, re-sign Sexton and see what you can get with Rubio's contract at the deadline.

I saw it as a scheduled loss. I'm not going to complain about losses when I can see them working their tails off. I complain when I don't see effort and they lose to teams that they should be beating on any given night. Or let them come back to fuck with my heart :chuckle:

Why wouldn’t you accept this result? They are missing over 20% of their initial rotation and 67% of their initial ball handlers.
There is no reason to rush this thing- patience this year is the key. Enjoy the development and see how much better they get in the off-season. Especially Mobley, Garland and Okoro who will all improve organically.
Trying to go all in or moving a major piece would be nothing short of catastrophic.
PATIENCE.

This probably belongs in the trade thread but I believe Koby has the ammunition to make a big splash if the trade makes sense. Would adding PG (if Kawhi isn’t coming back, who knows how they feel about that experiment now) make us a contender? Rubio’s contract, Markk, Sexton get it done? A few picks? PG would fit in like a glove.

Does he make sense with the timeline for this team? He’s a soon to be 32 year old player approaching the end of his prime years. Two of you major assets and draft capital pretty much blows your load.
Pass.
This team is so young, it’s ceiling is completely unknown. Yes that adds to trade value, but that value will be present in 12-18 months.

Be patient and make moves in the off-season. This team is not sufficiently talented to beat a team that includes Durant, Hardon, Kyrie, Patty Hills, Joe Harris, and Aldridge. Or DeRo, LaVine, Ball, Vucevic, Caruso, and Dosunmu. Probably not Miami or Milwaukee, either.

So relax, enjoy the season, keep developing the skills of Mobley, Okoro, Stevens, Windler, and Markkanen (as a 3). Then get Sexton back next year and see if we can take the next step. Then the following year Love's $30 million comes off the books and we turn that into an elite talent at the 2 and we make the EC our bitch. The Nets and W's will be done by then, too, as Durant, Harden, Curry, and Draymond ease into their mid-30's.

Since we're unlikely to be in cap danger next year, it makes sense to grab something that might be available for Rubio's expiring (Caris Levert?)

Other than that, let's just sit back and enjoy the team, without mortgaging our future to make the 2nd round.

Rubio is a free agent at the end of the season and is done for the year so he has no value. They would have to pay him about $8 million for the rest of this season and then he could sign with anybody.

Sexton has one more year and he's a free agent. Markkanen is a good player and under contract for four years but he's not in George's league. I don't see how this trade helps them.

The Clippers are 2.5 games out of the 6th seed. George hasn't played in a month but he'll be back. Leonard may return from his ACL in time for the playoffs. The Clippers are built to win now and are solidly in their window for the next couple of years. George is 31, Leonard 30, Bledsoe 31, Marcus Morris Sr 32, Reggie Jackson 31, and Ibaka 32. They've spent a lot of money on veterans in an effort to win now.

Why would they trade George for Markkanen and two guys who are out for the year?
