I agree. He's got the frame to absorb contact. I feel like he doesn't get the whistles he should when he does go strong, but might be a young-player thing.
I'm not ready to give up on him at all. It is still the preseason and he seems like he is not up to game speed. He was ill at the beginning of camp, so he may not be in game shape yet. I would say Mobley has adapted to game speed faster, which is really impressive.
We all thought Garland and Sexton looked terrible in preseason last year and then they came out guns blazin. We need more time to evaluate, but if he isn't going to shoot open 3's we probably need to get him out of the SL. Last year we prioritized his development, but we can't do that over Mobley this year.
I'm still a big fan, but if he truly needs the ball in his hands to be the best version of himself, he should prob come off the bench at SG.
