Here is my "fix" for the Lakers and Knicks as soon as trade season opens up...

tradenba-snap-1649253322241.png

Why for Lakers:
Obvious. Westbrook was a pariah for Bron and the Brow from day one. He is who he is but a team/org has to be committed to using what he is to a strength and Bron in his typical fashion half assed the acquisition. I think he intended to take a backseat and let Russ do what he had done in OKC, HOU and WAS as the focal and primary, but eventually his ego and desire to catch Kareem caused him to waffle and throw Russ under the bus by Christmas.

By adding Randle back, you provide some beef and versatility next to AD that preserves the tissue man AND keeps the floor spread for both him and Bron. Fournier is and should be strictly a 4th/5th starter who spreads your floor but the Knicks and Thibs inexplicably made him the 2nd option and of course he floundered in that role. Here, he would be exactly where he needs to be for the right mix of guys to compliment for the right coach. Fournier becomes a Reeves mentor and shows the cost controlled shooter the tricks of the trade.

Kemba fills the Westbrook void in 20 mins a night for 50 games and still has some gas in the tank to play next to Nunn, Monk and

Why for Knicks:
First and foremost to fix the terrible cap limitations they just put on themselves with the contracts last summer. YUCK. But also for the actual on-court...This would be a Thibs wet dream. These two were made for each other. He slots him right into the Derrick Rose do everything for my offense role, Thibs allowed Randle to play on that playoff team. With the future flexibility they just created by moving Randle and Fournier, you can find 3-D guys to compliment/spread the floor for Russ and RJ. This isnt a long term thing, this is lets just fix our contractual bloops while putting a product on the floor that COULD still keep butts in the seats at the Garden and maybe even catch lightning for one year while we plan to get back into the Free Agent chase in summer of 2023. Another guy to consider adding next to him and RJ is PorzinGOD who is on the last year of his deal next year too.

I love watching Bron fail as a GM, but this should fix the roster imbalance and put him in a position (if he can get the right coach, which he can, in LA LA Land) to get back to at least competitive next year

I secretly REALLY wanted to poach Duane Washington this summer as a stop gap/backup PG to keep Rubio's seat warm next year. :02.47 tranquillity:

This exact trade idea was proposed to me by a buddy. It makes total sense for both sides. Fournier makes so much sense as a 3rd/4th option next to LeBron as an off-ball shooter who can moonlight as a primary as well as anyone in those minutes you are getting killed with Bron on the bench. Russ lets the Knicks pretend they are a fringe playoff team for a year until they decide to buy him out or his contract expires.

Knicks are fighting. Good game so far vs Nets.

Edit:
Knicks up 17 at halftime. KD settling. Nets look incredibly disjointed, while Knicks repeatedly beat them in execution and effort all over the court. Alec Burks put up a cool 18 points in the first half. Koby coveted prospect RJ Barrett put up 16-6-6 while playing good defense on KD. Not giving him any space.

Nets aren't exactly lighting the world on fire right now, keep waiting for them to hit that next gear and i'm not sure if it's there. If we can get Evan & Jarrett back for Friday, it could be more interesting than some think . . .

You called this one @RchfldCavRaised (Nets vs Knicks). No gimme for the Nets. You're a wonderful prognosticator!

Hawks and Wiz are in a close game near halftime. Wizards pulled a rabbit out of their hat and went on a huge run in the 2nd quarter.

Subway series. This is the finals/championship for Knick fans this season. I knew they would compete and try to win for city bragging rights.

I still think Brooklyn can win though. All it would take is either KD or Kyrie to finally get going

Agreed.
But... Brooklyn doesn't have Jericho Sims walking through that door. :chuckle:

Fourth quarter incoming. KD starting to heat up

man Toppin is trash, cant score on Kyrie or Curry in the post

You guys see all this contact they're letting go and how the coaches still aren't just spending every waking second bitching to the refs?

Weird.
